Topping problem!!!

Hello all, I have 8 white widows in week 5 of veg. I topped 3 of the plants 4 days ago and the two shoots have stayed about the same size since I topped them. Is this normal because of shock? I am switching to flower in about 10 days. Please help.

I am growing in happy frog soil with 1000 MH with a 18/6 light schedule. The plants are about 18 inches in a 5 x 4 grow area. I am using advanced nutrient 2 part at 10 ml per gallon with a 6.4 ph.

Wink Still Fine

With your light cycle, 4 days is not enough time to see new growth. If i were you, i would veg another couple weeks at 24hrs, then switch to flower. When you arent using 20-24hr light in veg, the growth after topping is very slow cause they are not fully in veg growth mode. Increase those hrs and you'll see new growth in 2 days.

Yea what Sandman said makes alot of sense. Most people top a while before flower to insure the new tops grow in. I'd say give it a week at least. GL!

Thanks Sandman, I topped one plant about five days earlier because it was growing a lot faster than the others and the two shoots grew really fast.

Wink No problem

They sure look nice and healthy. Should turn out very nicely with an eye on the ph as it goes along. A good natural leaf application is wheat grass concentrate dilluted in water.

Looks fine. Don't worry. It is almost impossible to screw up a top. If you miss you do a FIM [fuck I missed] and you get four tops instead of two.

Thanks, I am just a little concerned because I topped a plant about 5 day prior to topping the additional three because it was growing so much taller than the others. The plant I topped 5 days prior has two big healthy stems unlike the ones I recently topped. The plants are about two feet now and I can only grow them a max of five feet.

My plants are at two feet now. If I veg for another two weeks then the plants will be between 2.5 and 3 feet when I put them in flowering. The plants can be 5 feet tall total which will leave a foot between the tops and the light. how much bigger will they become if I flower for 9 weeks?

I have seen a lot of new growth on the lower branches just not on the tops.

Some plants respond differently. They all look awesome.

P.S. If you are running out of verticle room flower now.
