New problem old grower

Hi
I had been growing the same strain for the last five years without any problems what so ever but 6 months ago i had to get rid of my stuff (long story)
I got back into growing a couple of months ago when a friend gave me these dodgy looking things. They come from a full on soil less hydro setup .

photo 22 march.

I am growing in coco, feeding with a two part nute as per the directions on the labels.
400 watt light. day time temps 25 degrees night time its dropping to about 10.
Thing is i have been growing in the same way for five years with no trouble but these plants are struggling and i haven't changed anything . They actually look worse than this in the flesh.

5th april photo

I turned the plants to 12/12 one week ago

i bought a little PH test kit and it indicates that when i mix my nutes they have a Ph of high 6 to maybe 7.5. And the run off from the plants has the same Ph.

5th April clones

Two weeks old. 0.5ml per litre of seasol. same as always.

Here are some clones from the same plant. three of them seem to be crook but two are ok.Same deal, i havn.t changed the way i clone or feed the clones from the way i have always done it.
Could the fact that it is a different strain be the prob?
And they didn't just go like this either , they have been this way from day bloody one ,the day i transplanted them to tell the truth.
I want me old plants back

damn.. strange this is happening to you.. have you changed anything in the room since you last grew? Different water?
Only thing i can see is that the PH should be lower than what you said for coco. 6.0-7.5 is a pretty big swing and may cause some issues, especially if that particular strain is sensitive to things like that.

best of luck man.. keep us posted!

You hit it august, in cocoa pH should be 5.5-5.8. Your plants are showing pH spotting on the lower leaves. It means nothing that you have been doing the same thing sucessfully and now trouble. Unless you have been growing the same strain the whole time, different strains respond to the same environment differently.

Nope i havn't changed a thing, i picked up where i left off. The ph of the nute solution is mid to high 6's when i water the plants and 7 and beyond when i measure run off.
I have no idea about ph i have never had to deal with it before. I'll do abit more reading i spose.

i was thinking that the strain dosen't like my conditions.

Your problem is pH. It is in the wrong range for cocoa, soil-less whatever. The correct range is 5.2-5.8 for your medium. You will have to buy some pH down and some kind of a pH meter. Check these out http://www.htgsupply.com/products.asp?categoryID=13

Hi
Do i flush the plants with a ph'd water solution or add ph down to the nutes to get them to the right ph.
Thanks again.

You can do the whole flush with un ballanced water and ballance the last pitcher of water so that it fallls in pH range. Do whatever it takes to get the run-off pH between 6.2-6.8 in soil.
