Mosaic virus? BUgs? ph?

Can someone help me identify this problem (pics below). Some of my leaves are developing these spots where it looks as if the outer layer of the leave has been eaten away or destroyed. Sometimes it also looks like a mosaic virus.

I recently just noticed what looks like gnats....fungus gnats I am guessing...I watered with soap today and most are gone...but I am afraid the leaves are a different issue
