Brown/Spots/Droopy Seedlings!!

Hello everyone,

I didn't realize we had a sick thread. This is perfect. I am having trouble with half of my plants right now. I started 3 from seed and got 3 from a friend (the smaller ones are mine ).

Anyways. The smaller ones are 15 Days old and the taller ones are about 10-12 days old. They growth of the ones I have started have been horrible. But worse, over the past 8-9 days I've noticed them going from yellow -> more yellow -> curling under -> brown spots -> lots of brown. In an effort to reduce harm I have switched to only using tap water today.

I use 7 26W CFL's between 1-2 inches away from the tops of each plant. I water with tap water ever other day mixed with 1-2 drops of SuperThrive per 2 cups + 1/8 tsp of Epsom salts. The soil has a little bit of blood meal in but it said it was a very small amount. The temps average 78-82F with 48 Humidity give or take a bit. I keep a fan blowing over the plants on low. 20/4 Light cycle.

I cannot figure out why my plants are looking worse and worse by the day!! HELP.

Looks and sounds like you burned the hell out of em. I would start over. Those ain't coming back . It also sounds like you were overwatering them on top of that. Do those cups have any drainage holes? And next grow make sure to check your PH when other problems come up. And this is up for debate but stay away from tap water.

No debate hear. Stay away from tap water. I only used distilled. No way should you give them any nutes for 3-4 weeks. 1/4 tsp. per gal. of superthrive is ok, but you shouldn't need epsom salt. Do a little more research before you start your next attempt.

Yeah I don't use tap water period. However I've gotten into some discussions with others about the use of tap water haha. But my opinion is just to stay away from it.

You don't even think that my big one will make it? I have 6 plants total and these 3 are my worst looking ones... I am looking for some advise to bring some back before it's too late for all of them??? Please...

And yes they have 1/2"-3/4" of rocks in the bottom for drainage. They are under the peat pots. I still have healthy plants that I am working with... should I flush them all?!

Every other day is too much water?

I flushed all of the plants in my grow area. The two smaller ones that have the most brown spots I transplanted into new (dry soil). The other plants I have outside of their plastic cuts (just the peat pots) allowing them to dry out by a fan on low.

Might be able to save them?

lol

k so now that i've replied to ur first thread i figured it might help if i give u the low down with my shit so we can compare what we've done. My shit looked exactly like that. Now i'm down to two of seedlings that were looking somewhat improved.

1. organic cheap potting soil mixed with about 30% perlite with perlite on the bottom of cups for drainage
2. first i had a T5 tube setting, was my buddies light that he needed so a few days ago i switched to 3 40watt daylight CFLs within three inches of plants.
3. watered at first with tap water set out for a few days about every three days. after experiencing what u r i switched to distilled bottled.
4. ferted after four weeks of shitty looking growth w/ 1/4 strenght earth juice grow. those first crusty leaves all croaked right away followed by new healthy green shoots...the one i ferted full strength had the most upward new growth however it was very dark green and soft (over nitrogen..?)

FYI i know I was for sure over watering there for a while. shit was very droopy seeming always and when i looked at the roots of the seedlings i offed, some were kinda brown and soggy and the nice roots were concentrated at the bottom of the cup, which i've read are signs of over-watering.
i'll holla at ya later wit my ph results.
