tiny bananas growing from buds??????

i got home the other day and checked on my plant and i found what looked like a pistol growing out from the bud but it was yellow and looked like a tiny little banana, so i touched it and some yellow powder came out of it???????? now i get home and there are a bunch of them on the top bud.

Anyone know what these are????

Male flowers......your plant has turned hermie, the powder was pollen.

If you have other plants that are not showing the same signs, I would quickly remove the plant from your grow area.

No the pollen can not pollenate the plant once drying it is already cut and dead.

i dont know(good bag seed) but it was really bushy so it lead me to believe mostly indica based.

I just started to cut her down. top first lol ive been waiting a long to do this.

Hmmm thats pretty long for a indica dominant strain.

The pollen sacs you saw were the female plants producing pollen to keep there strain alive. The female plant will do this 1-2 weeks after optimal harvest time, sorry. If you keep those little sacs you can pollinate a female clone and you have created feminized seeds.

Yeah. I was reading about that the other day. People actually let their plants harvest that long to create feminized seeds for themselves. You should cut the banana off, put it in a bag, and place it in the frig. I read that it'll stay good for a few months. Then when you flower again, use a Q-tip and and paint the pollen onto one of the smaller buds and leave the fan off. Only that bud will create seeds -- the other buds on the plant and on other plants will not. So you will still have really amazing bud on the rest of your plant except for that one smaller bud. Then you will have feminized seeds if it's a strain you really enjoy and will be able to get the strain alive without having to clone everytime.

You should NEVER flower for 12 weeks. No more than 9/10. Your THC content actually starts to decrease. The banana is created as a fail safe for the MJ species to keep the species alive even if a male is not around. That is why people stress to not stress your plants, otherwise you'll end up with a hermie -- which is what you want if you want to keep your strain alive. I just received some feminized seedlings from a buddy of mine.

i dont know i jus got real paranoid about seeds and cut her down so there all just hanging out and drying now.

so next time will be better
