Mysterious gold spots on fan leaves only

I've tried to get some help from the gen indoor forum but to no avail. What are causing these spots? Some say calcium deficiency but I've looked at other sample photos of such problems and nothing looks really like mine. Can anyone help?

Have you used a foliar spray recently? Because that's what it looks like - light burn from the water droplets of a foliar spray.

No, these plants have never been sprayed. But i hope they're just burns, no further action is required right? And like I said this problem effects ONLY the fan leaves, none of the smaller bud leaves. Also the problem seems to be effecting the only two plants of this strain

It somewhat resembles some form of insect bite that sucks the enzymes from the leaves. Try using a soap-water spray on the underside of the leaves and see if it stops the spots. Better yet, get a magnifying glass or pocket microscope and inspect the leaves for any gnats or aphids.

But it still might be a deficiency.

Good Luck.

Looks like either calcium or spider mite problem.

I'd go with the insects... spidermites or thrips.

Check the underside of the leaves and the tops, look very closely. If it's thrips you will be able to see them. Spidermites too if you look closely enough.

Examine the worst hit leaves for signs of very small life. If you do have a bug problem. the best way to get rid of them is to introduce a natural predator. I like ladybirds (you might call them ladybugs).

peace n pot
