Yellow leaves [pic and info]

Hey guys =)

Before we get to the problem i'll just run you through my setup. I've got a Master Kush seedling, its growing quite well. I've got a 250w blue spectrum cfl about 4 to 5 inches above it and a fan on constantly during the time the bulb is on for continuous cooling (it still gets pretty warm as its a closet grow). I use tap water to use but i leave it out to get rid of the crap and get it to room temp. I only water when she's looking thirsty but i do so generously. I had not used noots yet as i read somewhere that seedlings don't need them but i thought it looked like a deficiency of some sort so i gave her a little drink of nutes after the watering yesterday. I'm not sure what the nutes are but my mate got the bottle with the seeds. I have no way of testing for ph but i am not too concerned about that because the soil was bought with the seeds as well, i think the soil has some built in humus and perlite.

Right, now on to the problem. The leaves are growing well but the first set of proper leaves having been getting yellow patches around the edges of the leaves but symetrically on both sides. The plant is about 5 to 6 inches tall but new leaves are popping up everyday. i think she's about 3 weeks old but i bought her off a mate just after he'd germinated it.

Thanks!

Here are some more pictures with a in clearer light. And i checked, the nutrients have a "NPK of 8-2-6 and should be used on plants that require a good dose of Nitrogen in their early stages"

Thanks again.

Defninitley a ph problem. Check your run off. No nutes yet! Maybe back off on the light a little.....plants that small don't require 250w of light.

Thanks man, that's really helpful, i have a 120w blue spec envirolite i can use until it gets a bit bigger. Also thanks for the heads up about the nutes, i was worried it was a deficiency and had started using small amounts.

Unfortunatly i have no way to check my run off at the minute and no way to alter my ph

So i put my brand new 120w blue spectrum bulb into the reflector, turned it on, it ran for five minutes and suddenly i heard a loud pop and the lights were dead.

I'm gonna be onto progrow in the morning and get that shit sorted, its not the fuse because my friends 250w bad boy still runs =(

Growing has already started depressing me and its my first grow! lol. i'm gonna have to invest in a soil ph meter and some sort of ph up and down shit and probably a hygrometer and thermometer. As if i havent speant enough on the lights and fan already.

I hadn't planned on this =(

when you added the nutes to the tap water this would have taken the ph of the tap water down. In soil you should be able to grow perfectly well without ever needing to pH... I did.

Although this also depends on where you get your tap water from, for example there is a bifg difference in tap water you get from your sink and the water you get from your bath.

I think you'll see the plant green out over the next couple of days. What strength did you feed the nutes?

The nutes were diluted to the level it said on the bottle. i dont know what that is off the top of my head. I've had recomendations over on thc talk to stop nuting it and the problem is too many nutes in the soil in the first place. But i dont really need to worry and it should turn out fine.

What do you guys reckon to this? I thought it sounded fairly plausable as i had done so much readnig i couldnt find out anything else i was doing wrong. and the soil was the only thing i didnt have control over because my oafish friend did.

Nutes are definatly out of the question though until it gets bigger because i've had a lot of advice to stop nuting until its a much more substantial plant.

That's the other topic where i got this information. If anyone has anything to add i would be extremely grateful.
