Help with identifying a pest
About 6 weeks ago, I began noticing small white bugs in my reservoir (some larger appear black in color. I have a hydroponics table, 1 square meter, with drip emitters that pump solution to each plant. My grow store has not been helpful in identifying the bug, they have no clue what it is. They gave me a 20 dollar bottle of gnatrol used to kill gnat larva and such, but was useless, they keep spreading. I throw the nutes out, clean the table, and one-two day later there are a shitload on top again. they either multiply quickly or there is just a lot, or both. Anyways, I took a sample to my local arboretum and they dont know what it is and havent contacted me. I am concerned to whether it affects my plants or not, which it seems it has some because I have had problems with yellowing and dying leaves more than usual. The tiny. tiny, bugs just wriggle around in the water, crawl on the sides of the inside of the rez, and have a slight jumping ability similar to fleas, although not as good. The size is on the same scale as fleas and some even smaller. i also notice them on the table and in the pots around the roots. However, I notice no root damage even though this is the area they are thriving. I put a pest no strip in there (hate to do it , but had to b4 with mites and it worked well). Anyways, maybe someone out there in grasscity has experienced a similar problem and is willing to help me out.,
Peace,
PS.
I have a similar, or the same, bug that lives in my worm farm which was in the same room, and I think i got some worm doo on the floor and cross contaminated my rez when i took my lid of.
