Well for the first week of their lives they were under improper lighting which has since been fixed. The soil is actually nutrient free, no organics no time release and yes unfortunately it is kinda shitty. It was the only thing my local store had at the time but when they're transplanted to bigger pots it will be using quality soil. Like I said I gave them a watering using water with a half dose of all purpose nutrients and I'm hoping that will fix the problem. if you have any other pointers please feel free to share, I'd hate to have them die. And unfortunately I cannot test the ph I don't have any utility for that.

jfyi a cheapo ph kit is only like 5 bucks. also i see what your saying now, were they under some sort of halogen lamp, desk lamp or something of that sort? as for the soil being nute free thats not a bad thing, because it allows you to control what your plants get fed, give it a couple more 1/2 feedings inbetween your waterings and things should start to look up what you feeding them?

So I just bought 2.5 CF of miracle grow potting soil, I know around here MG is considered to be evil but it's all they have around here and there is nothing else I can use. And they were under the MH the entire time except I germ'd them too early and they were forced to endure 12/12 of my finishing ones for a week. I'm currently using MG all purpose ferts on them. I haven't used soil with fertilizers in them already before, does it mean I'm not supposed to suplement them with the nutes and just let them live? I'm going to water as you said, they seemed a little better today already. Thanks for your help thus far.

i dont want to be the bearer of bad news, but that is exactly what you will be getting with that soil. even i use MG all purpose plant food, so thats not so much your problem, i can ALMOST promise you that if you use that soil this wont be your last big problem. it has time release ferts that are harsh, and bad for the plant, the general "hated" consensus is there for a reason. i have however used the organic miracle grow, and that wasnt too bad. as for soils you gotta have some other options, do you not have a walmart? lowes? local nursery? i dont know australia but they gotta have SOMETHING. like i said your soil dosent have to be super expensive but its gotta be something that will work, and for me MG is out of the question. if you proceed to use it, i wish you luck and look forward to seeing it (im not saying it wont grow) im just saying its hated for a reason! keep us updated Last edited by doindia; 02-02-2008 at 08:19 AM.

I didn't read anyones replys, but its quite obvious that the problem is shitty soil, which is probably fucking with the roots ability to grow and take in nutes, and their way too light stretched. Transplant them into a better soil and bury them up to their Cotyledons in dirt... and lower those damn lights brother.
