spider mites infecting pollinated plants

My friend is growing a few plants for seed. They look relatively good although I have seen better. Two of them have recurrent spider-mite infestations. She sprays them with that anti-mite chemical (Poly-something? I forget the name.) and they seem to die, but the webs are still there. This spraying seems to reduce the problem temporarily, but not eliminate it altogether. She is not altogether concerned about the bud as it's going to be mostly seeded so she'll make hash out of the scraps, but her question is this: Will the mite infestation affect the seeds - their viability or their genetic potential? My guess is no unless it gets to the point where the seeds are unable to develop fully due to the infestation.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

Thanks kids.

That's what has been used; I just couldn't remember the name of it. Regardless, does anyone know anything about the questions I asked in the initial post?

No. (unless it's so bad that the plant starts to walk out of the grow room on it's own)
Better listen to my good friend Critter. He might be high 24/7 but he still knows what he's talking about.
BTW, a modest -and controlled- spider mite infestation doesn't even affects the buds. Happened to me several times. Tebufenpyrad from Bayer is a good alternative.

Well, your friend Critter didn't answer my direct questions, which is why I asked for elucidation. And, on top of it, he was unnecessarily rude.

But thank you for answering my questions about whether or not the seeds will be affected.
