somethings not right

i got this plant from a friend a few weeks ago, when he gave it to me it looked great, and sadly now that i've been watching over her its starting to turn. yellow leaves, burnt tips, brown spots... she's in fox farm ocean forest, water ph is 6.7-6.8, i use botanicare pure blend pro grow, 3/4 strength every couple of waterings, she's under 3 2ft T5 lights, and in a #5 smart pot. any help i greatly appreciated.

your in lockout you have several defeciencies currently

complete a soil runoff PH test.......
with PH corrected water (6.5-6.8PH for soil ) pour enough water in the pots so the water runs out the bottom of the pot ...collect & test the PH of this runoff water....post both the watering going in the pots and the runoff ph

guerrulla is on the money..^^^ I'd add that many folks prefer to water every time with a dilute nute mixture. The pure blend, with a weak mix, will buffer the ph down to a lower, more exceptable number. Maybe...5-10 ml everywater, with good runoff every watering...
has proven to make things easy. No ph down necessary.

all the water that has gone into this plant has been 6.6-6.8, even with the nutes. so how would that turn into lockout? but i will try and get a runoff sample, its just kinda hard with a #5 smart pot but ill get back with the sample a little later today, i gotta run to the store.

i use the CWP instuments accurate PH1 pen, and a chemical one from the fish store.
and i know the pen takes a little while to get the reading so i take several samples and let the pen sit in the water for a few minutes. i just got back from the store so im going to do a run off test.

and i am seriously getting fu**ing pissed, my first grow was one plant in a damn speaker box with 2 compact floros, shi**y MG soil, no nutes, un ph balanced water, small pot, and the only ventilation was when i opened the box twice a day, with NO PROBLEMS and i got a 1/4 oz off it and it was fu**in good, not super fire, but damn good. and now that i have premium soil, smart pots, great nutrients awesome ventilation, good lights, and PH balanced water, evrything is fu**ing up.

sorry for the rant but i needed to vent, i feel a little better now

and thank you for helping me through this

yo Guerrilla so i did the run off test, the water that went in was 6.7, the first two run offs came out to 7.0, you think that will lock it out that bad? either way im flushing it with 6.7 till it the run off comes out at 6.7.

if it went in at 6.7 & came out at 7.0, then your higher than you think

its closer to 7.5, the next issue is wether it returns after flush

the real problem is this....botanicare pure blend pro grow, quite inadequate

npk values:NPK : 2 -1.5 - 4

I use NPK: 24-8-16 with micronutrients

flush till your @ 6.6ph, then add @ the 50% first time application strength mix below 1 gallon of MG ferts to the last gallon of the flush

Vegatative cycle fertilizer
Miracle-GroŽ Water Soluble All Purpose Plant Food (they make several fertilizers be sure its this one)
http://www.miraclegro.com/index.cfm/...c0236933b0a7a4
Fertilizer Analysis: NPK: 24-8-16 with micronutrients
2 level "Teaspoons" per gallon of water, (reduce this by 50% first time application) use this as your water, feed every other watering or you can dilute this gallon into 10 gallons of water and use each watering, till flowering,

use this and your grow will begin to take off within a week or so

well this is weird, the more 6.7 ph water that i run through it, the higher it gets. it just went up to 7.1. whats goin on now?

and i know a few people that use the botanicare stuff i have, and have had great results. but ill give the MG stuff a shot, and the only reason i'm gonna try it is because i respect you and you knowledge about this stuff. thank you very much GG.

this is as I suspected, its higher than you think (see my last post)

as the soil soaks in the water the alkaline conditions you have begin to leech out

what brand of soil and any additives?

botanicare pure blend pro grow, is more for hydro,

use what I recommended and you will be pushing the plant to its max, I would also suggest that you DO NOT PH CORRECT your ferts water for the first 3-4 feedings
allow the acidic ferts to counter act your alkaline soil issues...take another runoff reading again in 2 weeks

yes, then add the 50% ferts to the last gallon of the flush, but as I stated you may see the ph return, something in the soil maybe creating the alkaline conditions
