weird ph problems

hello all. Everything has been good for me lately and the ladies are growing beautifully. Unfortunately, i stopped adjusting the ph of my watering solution completely a while ago. The plants aren't showing much of a problem but after investing in an electric ph meter i figure im obligated to use it. So heres there reason i stopped... When i would add the nutes to the water to the correct ppm i would then go to adjust the ph. Usualli the ph was low for soil (6.0-6.2) so i would add ph up purchased from a hydroponic store. The strange thing is the ph up wouldnt change the reading. Then after adding ph up about three or four times the reading would suddenli shoot to around 9. My guess was that the nutes have to sit in the solution a while before ph can be tweaked. Does anyone know what delays the ph up from changing the ph or what my problem seems to be? I would love to balance the ph for the plants because i have all of the correct tools to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

assuming your meter is ok, my guess is that the nutes are acid, and buffer the ph until the acid is neutralised, then adding a small amount of ph up would raise the ph right up. what's your water like, and what nutes are they?

my nutrients are made by millenium garden/lifecircle hydroponics. It is an all in one nutrient with a bloom and veg version. This was the hydro store owner's suggestion after i told him flat out i cannot afford advanced nutrient's program. And what do you mean by buffer the solution before adjusting ph?

yes. These nutes are designed for either soil or hydro. They have different amounts that should be used obv. However, this nutrient is actuallyu dsigned for soil growing. And as far as ph, plants in soil need ph adjusted wayter just as much as plants in hydro except the desired reading is different. Hydro should be at 5.6-5.8 and soil should be at 6.6-6.8.

I really need help on this one guys cuz im afraid my white widow is gonna lose pecious bud weight because of leaf loss.

you dont happen to have a ppm meter do you? i found that my ph was doing weird things in hydro because the amount of nutes i was using was to low, once i raised it, it hasnt happened since. mine was going up though, so you might want to lower the amount of nutes in the water, i couldnt add enough ph down, and it never changed. it probably not the same thing, just thought id mention it incase it happens to help

are you sure your ph meter is callibrated ok?...does your chem test verify your meter readings?...must always have chemmy test kit, 100% dependable and gives a good ballpark of your ph range...if your meter is good and ph is on than look at nutes...have you watched the streaming video on ph and flushing at ganjageurilla, (see link below)?...bad meters fuck up alot of people here...one fails on the video while GG is explaining things...v.impt....tootles.
