Help! light is broken! bulb and\or ballast ?

just got a 600 watt from htg and ran it for a week and just got to check the room and noticed the light was out. the ballast was still going, but this cant be normal for a bulb to burn out in a week. its a growbright 600wt. is there anyway to tell if the bulbs burnt out by looking at it ? right now im running on a few CFL's. if the ballast fan is running, and the bulb is out can I rule out the bulb ?

also, my plants were not ready to flower. if this induces flowering, can I just get my light situation fixed, stay on 18/6, then cut off any flowers I see growing and stay at veg till ready ?

Turns out it was the bulb. just had to drive 140 miles round trip for a new bulb. also had 2 power outages last night, bringing my total dark hours almost to a full day. what should i do ? switch to maybe 22/2 to insure they dont go into flowering ? or should 18\6 be ok ?

i would jus' kick it to 18\6, the plants are stupid so as soon as there was 12 or more hours of darkness they went into flowering, but as soon as you put them back on 18/6 they will start the veg cycle again it will jus' take a few to overcome the shock is all......peace

a day won't hurt, once it gets the light its back at top notch,specially 600 lol gl

same setup is giving me problems. this morning when I woke up I went in the room to check it out and the bulb was out (114$ replacement GE bulb), but the ballast was still running. So I did what I do with any malfunctioning digital electronic, restart it. It came back on, but has me worried. HTG said somethng about the ballast putting out more hertz(?) than the average ballast and will burn up cheap lights. However, if the light came back on after a restart (and also ran for 7.5 hours after that) then im thinkin it may not be the bulb, and may be the ballast. any ideas ? Its a digital ballast
