Ph Problem Please Help!!!

Ok I am growing in rockwool cubes and i soaked them in 5.5 solution for 24 hours then rinsed them with tap water. My tap water has a ph of 7. So when I checked the rockwool cubes before planting seeds... they were at PH of 6. since then i have added a few drops of tap water to each cube in the middles where the seeds are. I just checked the ph and it reads 8.5!!!!!! The seeds are just about up and open but still in the seed casing shedding stage.

Is this a big problem?

What should I do? The flood and drain cycles will start in 1 week with a diluted blend of hydro ferts that have a ph of 5.9.

Is there anything I should do to ensure healthy conditions?? or will this problem fix itself once flood and drain cycles begin??

stop using your tap water ,
pre mix water that you have ph corrected, and use it only

what are you using to take the PH readings
