Sick AAAhhhhhh Help Please

Hi,

After a little bit of help.

After reading up on hydro on here, decided that this was the way to go for me (DWC)

Had 4 2 week old plants just starting to break through their peat cups (Soil filled)

Experimented on one by cutting open the peat cup, washing the soil away from roots and then layering the roots into some clay pebbles in my net.

moved some of the clay pebbles today and noticed that some of the roots seem to be very furry and assume that this is some kind of mould.

The roots are still very thin about 2-4mm and the fur (white) is about 2mm thick. Is this normal or do I have a problem???

Noticed similar signs on some of the roots coming out of the peat cups on the remaining plants as well.

My bucket is 5L with a fairly large net cup filled with clay pebbles (Hight restricted anyway so dont think I need any more than this). I did have the water coming up about an inch higher than the net cup to make sure the roots are getting water while they make it to the nutes but my airstone is kicking up loads so dropped the water level down to the bottom of the cup today.

Plant has been in hydro for 3 days now, still seems mainly healthy, but leaves have drooped a little and there has been very minimal growth.

Any help/ opinions / advise much appreciated.

Am using vitalink nutes if that makes any difference. set up is all new so no issues with cleanliness of equipment.

As long as the roots are white and off white they are fine. That white fur is normal. Roots have a problem when they start to turn brown and slimmy and in extreme cases may turn black or green.
