Black, shiny, roughly round spot

I have a spot on the top side of a leaf. It's really shiny and really black. It doesn't go through to the bottom of the leaf, and it won't wipe off. What the hell is it?

It could be anything, but if there is only one spot dont worry about it plants arent perfect either, however do keep a close eye on them for more

Sorry, don't have a camera. It's really easy to describe though. It's so shiny it looks like it's wax. It's diameter is the same size as the edge of a penny (height of it if it's flat on a table). And it's pitch black. I noticed it there yesterday and it doesn't seem to have changed size today. I'll let you guys know if it gets bigger...or has shiny black dot babies

Maybe one of your ballasts is leaking tar.
