Got bugs, not sure what kind, (gnats or aphids or white flys)

i noticed yesterday that there are these little bugs that fly around when i mess with my plants. they are real little black bugs with a lighter abdomen, (making me assume that they are gnats). there only seems to be 6-12 of them that i can notice. ive seen them more on the dirt surface than on plant, but you can tell that something has been eating on them, there are black, brown, & white spots, & even chew trails on some leaves like a catapillar would do. also there are tiny black ants that also showed up yesterday, killed what i saw, no more today. so i have this stuff called BANG! (got it for free), its a 100% organic insect inhibitor and is especially effective against spider mites and also inhibits most other plant damaging insects. Use it up to three days before harvest, indoors or outdoors, on fruits, veggies, flowers, and trees. Great for hydroponics. This non-toxic combination of fruit and vegetable extracts is brewed in small batches to ensure quality. Will not harm birds, pets, or people once applied to your plants. will this kill whatever pest i got. i will try to take pics of them, and the damage. also i heard ladybugs are good pest control, where can you get them, & will they harm the plants once the bugs are gone. thanks

fungus gnats, means you water too much

scrape off the top 2" of soil....to remove the larve....now spray with neem oil, replace with new soil....sprinkle garlic powder on the surface of the new soil....and apply 1 "YELLOW" sticky trap on the soil of each pot

gnats will clear within a week or 2

I have your solution!

I have your solution!

I got some wierd spice that I use for my plants (indoor and outdoor) it seems to work to keep bugs and animals away from #1) Marijuana and #2) My petunias and Impatients :P

Hang on, for some reason its in the fridge, i gotta go check the name.

Cayenne Pepper is the name of this stuff. Its a red powdery substance that comes in packettes. Just sprinkle a thick lair of Cayenne Pepper on the top of your soil (about every 4-5 waterings) and it will drive the bugs away.

The powder clings to the legs and Antennae of the pest and drives them to relocate or die. Trust me, this works. It wont harm your plants either I've been using this method for outdoor gardenning for years.

well i got an update on my rosemary question. from what i can tell it killed the adult gnats. i used "bitter yuck" (active ingredeint: rosemary) which is a spray to keep pest, (mostly larger pests, eg: cats, dogs, rabbits, ect) away from whatever you spray it on (safe for plants), and mixed it with the "BANG" organic pest control, which looks and smells like a soapy liquid. when i sprayed my plants i saw some gnats on the surface of dirt, sprayed it too, and they almost died instantly.

second question, now that ive seen the gnats, now there are these little bugs, they look just like mini june bugs, same color, body structure, everything, just tinier, a tad bit bigger than the gnats. they are chewing my leaves vs "sucking the sap". anybody know what these are, and how to rid them. ive only seen a few (3-4) but thats how it starts. oh yea, does anybody know why my northern lights is being attacked the most. btw, thanks ganja for the info, will use it when i can order some neem.
