effects from lack of light

What up peoples! I was wondering what happens to plants when they dont receive enough light. All three of my plants are have a weird problem

The lower fourth of every plant has dying leaves. The leaves wilt horribley and almost seem to turn rotten. When you slightley tug on the leaf it easily detatches from the stem. But the top 3/4 of them are flourushing quite well.

Does this sound like a light issue or something else?

1 26w cfl per plant and 1 28in. tube for under growth.

Yea mine is experiencing the same problem. The leaves turn yellowish green and fall off with a tiny tug. Mostly the lower half but they also are curling a bit.

Nah man no pics. But my leafs are curling to swa mostly the fan leaves but my dying leaves have no yellow on them just a rotten wet dark green color.

I think I know why:

My plants are in there 13th day of flowering and I pulled 2 males

I pulled them out carefully to see how far the roots had gone and sure enough the whole pot was the root ball with the roots growing all the way down

My pots are 3 gallon size and it seem that this might be why??

sound good gonga?

will my female die 6-8 weeks from now or will she ride it out??

your problem is over fertilizing (drooping, claw) & now maybe PH related issues...I see potassium & nitrogen def's

you need to do a PH soil runoff test
with PH corrected water (6.5-6.8PH ) pour enough water in the pots so the water runs out the bottom of the pot ...test the PH of this water....

you need to flush your plant regardless of the PH reading as you have excess ferts that need to be leeched out of the soil
flush with PH corrected water 3 time the volume of the pots
EG: 1 gal pot = 3 gal. flush

jimmyb420 I have a picture for you I will post it shortly

it maybe what you describe to me

lockout is a bitch lol It's good to learn though thanks again. The funny part is it is just the 1 plant to...it must be a different strain from my other bag seed. After I flush and let the soil dry when is it safe to fert? I probably won't need to much now because of flowering (grow big). I have tiger bloom and normal bloom. Should I just move on to those and stop with the grow big? Sorry for stealing your thread jimmy.

you should have enough nitrogen in the soil even after your flush to get you thru, just watch for premature-yellowing, dont fert for 3 weeks and start with your blooming ferts @ 1/4 strength first application

better to have this issue discovered right now rather after you get into the bud phase and screwup your yields

remove ALL damaged leaves so you can tell if the issues are corrected

I think this is what you describe or atleast somewhat similar, no?

this is a severe example of Nitrogen & Phosphorus lockout while in the vegetative state
if this is what you have you too need to do a soil PH runoff test

with PH corrected water (6.5-6.8PH ) pour enough water in the pots so the water runs out the bottom of the pot ...test the PH of this water....

you need to flush your plant if the PH reading is out of optimum range 6.5-6.8
flush with PH corrected water 3 time the volume of the pots
EG: 1 gal pot = 3 gal. flush

add 1/4 strength nutes to the last gallon of the flush

Wow thanks ganga! My leaves are identical to that pic but not to be compared with swa swa s cause theres no yellowing just the brown.

A couple of questions though:

will letting tap water sit for 24hrs make it nuetral and suitable for the flush?

Im using fish fert for veg and morbloom for flower should i add just the fish fert at a 1/4 dose on the last gallon or both?(shes had no nutes for about 1.5 weeks and its been around 3 waterings about 2.5 days apart) I think shes hungry. Possibley for some bloomage?? 16 days into flower

I cant get my hands on a ph tester right now but i will gaurantee that you diagnosed it properly. Im going to flush out at 6 in the morning and just pray she stays healthy. I will try to get some pics asap thanx.

NO this will only allow the chlorine to disapate the PH must be adjusted manually

this is the cause of your problems

the fish emulsion you have been using is not sufficient alone and is extremely acidic....the cause of your PH lockout

I have had poor results with both those products & diagnosed countless issues the same as yours

your tap water is alkaline and suitable to flush the plants immediately for this emergency, but get a $4 ph aquarium kit at the very least you must get the soil runoff in the 6.5-6.8 range or your not uptaking nutes

hey ganga I just turned my lights on at 6 am and flushed her with 4 gallons of poland springs. Was the poland springs a good idea??? she got a real good flush and I figured id wait until around 5 pm to add another gallon along with the emulsion.

Ive heard similar posts about the emulsion but im broke and have to stick with it!

Do you have any tips to make it work out??

I have another additive called neptunes harvest seaweed fertilizer with a 0-0-1 rating do you think that will help keep the acidity down from the emolsion when i feed tonight?

Thanks for all the info bro! and ill try to get my hands on that ph tester for sure.

One more question if this dosnt work out how soon can I flush again to test the ph??

pop $ 8 bucks for Miracle-GroŽ Water Soluble All Purpose Plant Food

http://www.miraclegro.com/index.cfm/...c0236933b0a7a4

since they are going to be planted outdoors spend the cash on the ferts the PH is almost a mute point outdoors
2 level teaspoons per gal of water, reduce this to 50% strength for first time use

feed every other watering you will have an easy grow
