Best Fertilizer

Could someone tell me the best fertilizer for an outdoor plant in need of nitrogen, im looking for 25% or so because current soil contains trace amounts of nitrogen.

I overdid it with Miracle Grow and 3 out of my 4 seedlings died
at about 2 weeks old. The 4th one remained stunted after the initial
growth. I guessed the problem and flushed the soil with 3 waterings.
After a few days growth restarted. I was using potting soil and
it was an indoor system.
But I'm curious. How did you determine the level of nitrogen in the
soil and how do you know how much you should have?

you dont feed seedlings!! thats your problem

as with any ferts you start with a weak solution, 1/8 strength and increase the strength till the plants show signs of distress

don't give them ferts ti'll they have their first set of true leaves

i think my plant may also have a Mg deficency, the leaves get small brown spots, and 1 leaf is curling down at the tip

I went and purchased some Scotts Peters Professional the NPK was 24-8-16

. I fed my plant half tablespoon of nutrients in about two cups of water. I used less than half of the solution and lightly misted my entire plant. HOPEFULLY, this solves my problems.
