Adults and young: Tiny (barely visible to naked eye), red or greenish red. Found on underside of leaves. Not classified as insects. Common host plant(s): Muskmelon, cantaloupe, beans, blackberry, cucumber, melons and tomato. Damage: Yellow specks and fine webs on leaves. Plants and fruits are stunted. Damage on strawberry usually occurs in hot, dry seasons, and may be severe. Distribution: Throughout United States. Lifecycle: The majority of spider mite species overwinter as eggs on plant hosts. Immature mites hatch in spring and develop through several instars. High populations of spider mites are favored by hot, dry weather. Multiple generations occur annually. Cultural Control A spray of either cold water or a mix of wheat flour, buttermilk, and water onto the leaves will help to control the mites. Never used it but anything good for edibles would be good for weed. Neem oil works real well too.

| Indica-Sativa VS Spidermites
I had a spider mite invasion in my starting area, and I didn't know what was going on with my Indicas, as they were loosing they vitallity. But there was no obvious signs of infestation, no webs, no spots. Only when they moved to my sativas did they web. After which I looked back to the Idicas with glass to find those little bastards, which were well established with eggs galore. This first showed up as signs of +N overkill in my Idicas. Neem/Canola oil cured all.
