hard to tell if there is old fert burn damage?, but they really need a good feeding,
I really be concerned with my PH runoff, to be certain you dont have a lockout going on.if the PH runoff is between 6.3 7.0 they just need a good feeding.

gluck

no there was no prior fert burn damage, those bottom leaves just started turning brown the bigger the plant got. I will do a 1/2 stength light feeding, and see what happens. Also i will be getting some PH test strips to test runoff. Thanks for the reply

Oh, and i have purple stems, is that a sign of something?

it looks hungry to me. also, that looks like back yard dirt with a little perlite. i'd put it in something else and add more perlite. don't worry about your ph. as long as everything you put in is ph'd you have no worries.

POOR ADVICE
PH is one of the most important aspects of growing weed & can turn a grow upside down faster than anything elses, he has no PH tester and has NO idea what the PH of anything is. <!-- / message -->

ouch ganja, actually, that's good advice. if he doesn't have ph testers/adjusters, he prob. shouldn't be growing. you can make it w/o a ppm meter but as you said, ph is key. BUT, as i stated, if you properly ph everything that goes in, there's no need to worry about it. i never ph root zone (i'm in coco) or runoff. i ph everything that goes in. unless of course your plants are bitching, ph is not a factor.

well lets see i dont have a ppm meter, or any ph testers because i cant afford it or have had any need for them so far in my growing experience. I am not growing huge amounts of weed, just this plant. My past experience with outdoor weed growing have been good, no major problems.i havent needed any of this stuff. Maybe i have just been lucky with PH so far, and now im running into a problem. I will be buying a soil PH test kit today. And as far as the fertilizing goes, i have added half strength tomato ferts.

hey bagseed, i have no experience with outdoors. indoors, ph is very important. unless you can adjust ph there's no point in checking it. there are some household supplies you can use for up and down but it's better to have the real stuff. (that's just my opinion.) i never check my runoff ph, it's a bit misleading. my first grow i used pure blend and up/down and the paper strips. lay out a couple bills and you won't be sorry.

I understand why you say you don't measure the runoff, your using coco and it is inert, soil however, is a different thing, runoff is the best way of determining if you have a pH problem in soil.

Test strips are not very accurate, I'd recommend either the liquid test kit or a digital meter, I know your broke, poor excuse. You need to plan your indoor growing in the future. Don't buy that next bag of weed, instead use the money to better equip your grow.

no not really. marijuana grows best between 6.2 and 6.8 so if you could lower it a little that would be optimal.

heres some info on PH
