i searched and think i found what my problem is. i have two plants and one is fine with nice thick forming buds. the other one is the problem it is about 6 inches taller than the other but it has smaller less dense buds and all the fan leaves have turned yellow and died. it started from the bottom up and now its working its way up the stems. from what ive read it sounds like root bound? cuz my plant is almost 5 foot tall in about 2 1/2 - 3 gallons of soil, but i think its needs more soil. i have no room to transplant into a bigger pot, would it be fine just to leave it and let it bud, but i figure the buds wont get much bigger. any advice would be appreciated. thanks grasscity. laters!!

Yeah it is root bound.
I don't know if that is the problem. Sounds like they are getting nitrogen deficient. How far into flowering are they? What do you feed them? What are the temperature ranges in the room?

right now they are 4 1/2 weeks into flowering. i feed them a mix of bat guano (0-13-0) and espoma quick solutions garden food (10-10-10). i use this on both plants and one is healthy as hell and the other is having problems. the temps go from mid to high 70's during the day, to mid to high 60's at night.

What is the soil or run-off pH?
