Leaves Curling Up + Tips Yellowing

High all,

these plants are clones that i have had for almost two weeks. their leaves seem to be curling upwards and the tips seem to be a bit yellow.

any ideas as to what's causing the leaves to curl up like that? please help:

Your lights are too close and/or your temps are too high. Your plants are suffering from heat stress. What are the temps like at the top of the plants? Try backing the light off the plant a bit, and getting some fans in there.....

i cant enlarge attachments anymore for some reason BUT from the small thumbnails it looks like heat stress. U might also want to check ph, for soil it should be 6.3-6.8

Yes, the problem shown is heat stress. Raise your light, and mist your plants for the next couple of days. Clones don't need a lot of intense light until the roots get established.

this is weird but when i had my setup in my basement, it was 50 C, and every single leaf curled like you'res.. just the otherway...

so i assume if its to hot (90+ C) it curls exactly like in the picture....

i'd say lower the temps.
or raise you're light cause that plant is getting burnt like a cocaroach....

ever since i put my plants in my closet, with 70 C (Low), and 80 C (High) my leaves havn't done that since...

hope it helps you out... if not keep trying different things to fix it... and also... don't just throw the crop out... even if it looks horrible... try and be a "scientist" and do abit of trail - and - error

good luck man! hope you're plant pulls throught...

high everyone, thanks for the responses. soil runoff was checked yesterday, at 7.0 exactly. we're feeding the plant 6.2 pH water right now to fix that.

i've been misting 6.4 pH water on them several times a day, is that okay?

the curling seems to have gone down again on all leaves except for one and they have grown in size.

chimera, i know we talked about A/C dryness in my grow journal, but would adding a humidifier be a worthwhile tactic to fight this? what is the optimum humidity level for my plants?

does anyone know how much air needs to be moved (cfm) would be good for a box rougly 4'x3'2' in size? I'm thinking of getting a carbon filter like this http://cgi.ebay.com/CARBON-AIR-SCRUB...QQcmdZViewItem
as an exhaust fan and use a passive intake. I believe this fan is ~160cfm.

thanks for all the help

humidity of 40-60% for veg... under 50% in flower, 40% is optimal, then drop it down to 30% or lower the last 3 weeks to really pack on the trichs... make sure to turn the humidifier off at night though, and dont let the temps get below 60 at night

edit: that fan will be fine, make sure the passive intake is larger than the exhaust... u have 24 cu. ft. of space, they say u should have an exhaust fan that will move 2-3 times that... so ull be fine with that fan

I had this exact problem. Your lights are way too close. Put them farther away around 5 inches and in 3 days your plant will be fine...
