Is grey mold likely?

OK, next problem. Yesterday, I lowered the flood level so it just reaches the bottom of my grow plugs, instead of flooding them to the top.

I have read to flood to the top, so the draining water pulls air into the pots. I have also recently read that I should only flood to the bottom of the grow plug, which is what I started doing.

Well, my problem is, since the top part of the grow plugs have been allowed to dry out, a grey mold looking substance has formed. The plants appear to be healthy for the most part. I have read that grey mold likes wet, moist conditions with high humidity (above 50%). It doesn't seem likely to me that it is grey mold, because my relative humidity hasn't gone above 30% in over two weeks.

It almost seems to disappear when I expose it to the light. I got some pictures though, before I flushed from the top with a ph adjusted water/hydrogen peroxide mixture. (30ml/gallon, ph 5.9)

Should I continue flooding to the very top? Did this condition occur in just the last day, when I stopped flooding to the top? Or has it always existed, but only showed itself when the grow plug was allowed to dry out a bit? Anyone? '(Too bad I'm not growing grapes. Botrytis=Icewine.)

Set up details: Ebb and flow under 400 watt MH. 15 inches from tops, 4th week from seed, still in veg. 18/6, 4 inches in height, 5 nodes, topped, fox farm nutes, 350 ppm, 15 minute flood every 3 hours, intake and exhaust fans for ventilation.

Stems look ok.
Don't see any damping off which is a killer. Just keep an eye on it. I can't really see anything and I don't know what it is.

Thanks again, SmknVTEC . You are an asset to the GC community! My worries have ebbed a bit, because the plants look good, and all I've read on botrytis tells me that this isn't it. I'll keep a close watch though.

Buddy, put some more clay rocks on it so the plug is not exposed to light, it will save you a lot of hassels.

The grow plug is not typically exposed like that. That was just for the pic.
