Overwatered seedling? Need advice.

I just planted a germinated seed on Wednesday in a 4qt plastic pot, and gave it about 2 cups of mountain water from a nearby stream. Yesterday it poked through the surface, but it's looking rather sad. It's barely out of the surface and drooping bad. There seems to be a yellow spot on what will become the first pair of leaves.

I have a single CFL with a reflector hanging about 6 inches above the pot. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong and what I can do to save this poor guy?

Move the light closer, 2-3", use indirect air flow to keep it cool and strengthen the stem. And don't water until your absolutely sure it needs it. Are there holes in the bottom? If there is then its a prob with your soil, either retaining to much water or ferts. What type of soil are you using?

The soil is schultz for african violets and flowering plants. It was already pretty moist when I put it in so I think i overdid it with the water. I'll try to go get a fan tonight to provide some airflow. As for the drainage, I didn't realize until the day after I planted that there was a cap on the bottom of the pot covering the holes, which as soon as i removed a lot of water came out.

I just started to play with it a little, and realized the soil wasn't compact at all at the surface. Just brushing away a little bit of soil I was able to see that the root is still just a white shaft a cm or 2 under the surface. Don't know if this info changes anything but if so tell me, I'm a complete noob to growing.

Edit: Would it be a terrible idea to try and move the stem at all? It looks pretty weak, but it looks like its growing back downward right now

Just give it regular tap water or bottled water. Streams can carry disease and organisms that can kill you and your plants. If you must water from the stream, take a sample to a professional so they can analyze the water.
