Question Plant recovery question for newb

System: Hydro DWC & EbbFlow

I'm hoping some of the guru's here can shed some light on a topic I've been stumped by. Based on the plant issue, what should I look for in the way of recovery?

Example: Let's say I begin to see brown spots on older leaves, root growth is slow but not brown, leaves are discolored.

My guess: Cal/Mag deficiency

Now here's where I get a little confused. Let's say that indeed it IS a Cal/Mag def, and I change out nutes, flush, etc and add back in everything that's needed to fix this problem.

What should I expect from the plant? Will the older leaves 'heal'? Will the discolored newer leaves go back to normal? Or will the plant simply begin recovering with new growth and anything that has been 'burned' will remain that way for the life of the plant?

I know that under-watering/over-watering is very easy and quick to watch the plant's recovery. But when it comes to nute lockouts, I'm not sure what to look for once I think I've got the problem nailed down and fixed.... It makes it hard to spot future problems, not knowing if the previous ones were solved!

Hmmm... granted it hasnt been a week since I posted this (to allow the full onslaught of viewers), but I am kinda surprised that out of 16 views not one person has actually had a sick plant that they then 'cured'... that's really the result I'm asking about. Too much N, you cut the N back and the plant does what? Leaves are burnt by lockout, you fix the lockout and the plant does what? Are the old marked leaves just screwed - and in a couple weeks when you come back to that plant, how will you know that the older leaves aren't still suffering?

I've considered pruning those leaves that have spots on them - but wasnt sure if they could be 'rejuvinated' by correcting the pH or nute lockout issues. Or if pruning was the right approach.

So just 'bumping' this - as I havent found any information to suggest 'what happens after a problem has been fixed'....

the damaged leaves wont heal, only the new growth will be healthy. Cut off the damaged parts of leaves, dont cut the leaf off though.
