A water cure can actually improve bunk weed. THC is not water soluable but there are many other substances in weed that can be removed by soaking in warm water for several hours, change water until it stops turning color and then drying in the open air to prevent molding.
CBN and CBD are commonly the cause for differences in "high" and can even override the THC so that your weed seems bunk. Get rid of the non desirables and see if it improves your weed. We got a bunch of bunk weed once and were we ever pissed off. The Marijuana Growers Guide by Ed Rosenthal describes the water cure as a method for improving the quality of bunk weed. So we tried it and damned if it didn't make it better than the good shit we had been smoking. Try it.
