Unhappy 2nd Grow, 1st problem.

Hello Everyone, id like to start off by saying thanks to anyone who helps me out with this, ok so here goes the story. I have two female sweet tooth's that are over a year old(regenerated from last harvest, started April 06) one is bent over and has 5 or so branches with many more coming off that are all growing vertical, one sour diesel unknown sex 2 1/2 months old 12 sets of leaves, all with alternating branches that are 3-4 inches long, one kali diesel 2 1/2 months old that got bit in half as a seedling by my feline friend, grew into two braches off one stem each with 7 sets of leaves with branches starting. They are all growing in pro-mix soil with added perlite, and some ironite in large empty cat litter buckets. They were all growing very well under 150w HPS and 2, two fixture 35watt flourescents in a 4x5 closet. I have a 400w HPS as well but seems to heat up the room to much. I recently switched to organics after being fed everytime they were dry with miracle grow (my mistake reason why i switched). I got the alaska brand fish fertilzer NPK 5-1-1 and some 7-7-2 Pellets. I added the pellets to one of the plants to try them out. I watered them all with a low dose of the emulsion 5-1-1. 2 days later all the leaf tips were brown and curling up, all the leaves started drooping and all the classic signs of nute burn!!! So i flush them all immediately to try and save their lives, its been 4 days now and things arent looking much better. 1 of the females looks horrible, leaves starting to sag very far down, almost straight down on the bottom half, the upper half is turning yellow veins and not sagging as much. The other female is jsut about the same but not as bad with same symptoms, Kali Diesel bottom 2 sets of leaves fell off, only top two sets of leaves are yellow fringed about 1/4" around the leaf, the sour diesel has the top half of the plant with yellow tips, yellow veins becoming more noticeable, but the top leaves whent he lights on, pull almost vertical to the light, same for another set of fan leaves below. What is the next step on their road to recovery? Thanks!

if you were using miracle grow ferts and your plants are yellowing you have a lockout,

you need to test the PH of your water and the soil runoff PH

can you post pics?

your initial thoughts were correct they have been fert burnt, they are showing signs of severe lockout.

you need to do a PH runoff test , flush the plants out and into the correct PH range (6.5 - 6.8) last gallon of the flush add 1 tabelspoon of epsom salts and a 1/4 strenght solution of a good all round LIQUID fertilizer like a 10-10-10

alaska fish emulsion NPK 5-1-1 isnt enough to help these girls they are in need of a lot of potassium which isnt present in the Alaska fish emulsion

^^i agree with him... and always measure the ph of water when u add ferts to it...(6.5-7.0 is best)

Ok, nice job on the flushing.

First, the old, dead leaves will not recover, the yellowing ones will.

Next, I use Botanicare organic nutes. they are awesome for both hydro and soil. So, if you have some left over, you can do a little experimenting with hydro.

Get a pH meter, a good one, and test the runoff pH, or the water that drains out of the pot, and that is your accurate pH.

pH is extremely important, good luck. Keep us posted on the grow, get some pics up.

MG Ferts aren't bad, did you feed every fortnight (two weeks)? i'm sure you diluted the ferts and used a lesser amount? they are right that you have nute burn but it appears that you have an over excess of nitrogen in those plants (dark tone) and some lack of Mg since the tips of your leaves are faint yellow . ph adjust....btw those leaves already yelllow will not recover i have experience with this.

stop waiting for them to get better!
those potassium defecient affected leaves wont get any better, only worse & your looking for new growth not to continue the same trend.

This ofcourse is only if you feed them they are STARVING
