| 2 Seedlings - 1 sick /1 healthy
Here's what I'm using: Cab Dimensions: 26" x 26" x 14" Lights: 70w HPS Soil: Sierra Organics 100% natural w/ ph 5.8 - 6.8 Pot Size: 10.5" diameter, 8" height Ventilation: 4 - 2.5" holes in center of back wall with 4 - 80mm fans w/ 3 speeds up to 136cfm facing in. 4 - 1" holes, 4" apart, centered down the side wall with 10" tabletop fan facing inwards on the opposite side wall.
I have two lowryder #2 seedlings going right now on 18/6. The first one broke the soil 9 days ago, but had its shell still covering it the first 2 days and the stem was already 1.5" tall. I peeled back the shell and its cotylens were already forming as well as it first set of leaves. The first of set of leaves had started to fill in nicely so far, but when the second set started to come in, the second set were curling under right from the start, and are now growing into a spiral shape as they continue to curl under.
The other seedling broke the soil about 5 days ago without any of the shell attached. Its first set of leaves are almost as big as the other seedlings first set, but its stem is half the size in height and noticeable thicker than the first seedling. The second set of leaves are coming in straight and look just like how its first set looked coming in. Its color is a darker green as well.
It appears as though the second seedling is healthy and fine, but the first seedling may be done for. For my first try, maybe I would be more successful with just one anyways. The 70w HPS would suit one just fine, and it would give me more room inside to adjust the distance bewteen the pot and the lamp.
Should I cut the first seedling down or leave it and see if it survives? Lowryders are supposed to show sex after 3 weeks, so I was hoping to get two seedlings to the 3 week point to increase my chances of a female, but now I'll have to just hope the healthy seedling is a female.
What do you think I should do?
