I came home and it looked lime green. About two inches tall after ten days after pop-up.
I checked the 'outflow' and it read 8.5 ph .
Any way I set up a flood/bubbler combo hydro system. By flooding four times a day the ph has been kept at a good 5.5 outflow. The plant is showing new growth that is dark green and healthy, now in it's second week. So it is out of the woods so to speak.
My question is this. The plant is 1 1/2 inches tall. It's two weeks old. Half of it is lime green. Is there any way this thing can still grow and produce (assuming it's not a male) even an ounce?
If I veg it, could I take cuttings from it that would grow better than the plant itself?
I've got 400 watt HPS going 24/7.
Any thoughts would be great. I intend to grow it out no matter what. Just interested in thoughts on plants that have been nuked with high PH.
Thanks. |
OK, so it's been 11 days of rehabilitation and I thought I would post progress on the stunted, tortured, and abused seedlings.
Setup is bubbler with 10 liters of water.
HPS 400 Watt
Lights on 18/6
PH, since last abuse, kept between 5.5 and 6 adjusted every days or two
Bigger plant is 25 days old
Smaller plant is 14 days old
Both were subjected to PH of 8.5 to 8.7 for five days and then transplanted and over watered
Nutes at 600 ppm
The lime green plant seems to have turned the corner but I am still worried about it's color. Note the yellow leaves. I think it's residual stress from the abuse.
The small, darker, plant was completely purple two days ago and had not grown for 10 days. Now it seems to be coming along again with some new growth. Why would it have been purple?
I will turn this into a grow journal once I am certain one, or the other, will make it.
I think the main point of my update is that if you can stabilise the plants even after abuse--they may still grow. Of course they may be hermies or males.
But learning the hard way what not to do, my next round will be much better.
Good luck all.
