insects? what are they?

when i was watering my plants today i noticed on one pot theres like tiny tiny tiny white specs jumping around on the soil. there seems to be several like 20 or so i duno. but its tiny and cant even take a pic or kill it because its that small but i can see them jump around. what are they and how big of a problem are they going to cause my plants?

insects are problems no matter what they are, get rid of them.

i had these last year and never found out what they were. they didnt seem to hurt the plant though

HIGH All, sounds like Springtails.

Best tool is a magnifying glass...scoop up a little soil with them in it and put in a jar of water, they'll float..grab the mag glass and look. Best way to defend against pests is to identify them.

I get a lot of springtails, not a real problem if thats what they are?
