leaves curling and looking rather funny... pictures attached

Hey, i have no idea what would cause the curling of the leaves on this plant... i know i dont have the right light and my light gets to my door soon so i have a ghetto lamp... but i was unsure if the soil might be making the curling or maybe heat from the lamp.. or over watering or under watering.. i really dont know.. if anyone has any insight on what causes this curling definatly let me know.

What kind of light is it?
They need CFL light.
Your problem is the light if you are using a regular incandescent. What type of soil is that?

yeah sorry pal, you need to transplant aswell your soil is bad for young plants, go see the sick plants section or use the search feature .....use......... miracle grow..........schultz.......and scotts .....as the keywords

get the new light high enough above the plant that you feel no heat discomfort with your hand,

transplant to soil with NO NUTES added ( NO NPK rating on the bag)

light watering and wait 2 weeks for the recovery, and you will be fine

turfking potting soil new member of the I hate Mj soil club

OHHHH well then, i was told that was the best soil, well damnet damnet damnet.. hmmm

here let me tell you my plan and tell me if this is a good idea then.. im making that baby my mama if i get it to grow good.. so ill transplant it to some no nute soil... basically i dont want this one to flower i just want it to grow and be healthy so i can clone off of her. should i just transplant it to basic soil and give it good lighting? im guessing i should leave it at 24 hr lighting and it would grow and pretty much stay in veg for all of eternity hahaha? will that work? and if it will would contant CFL lighting be sufficient for it to live a healthy plant life for me to chop baby clones off of?

thanks for the help guy im goin to mr soil shop tonight..

yes you can , use her for a mama.....providing its a girl

18/6 lighting , best plan is to use her to learn cloning techniques, when you have sucessfully cloned the required number of plants, go ahead and bud BIG mama with your clones, keeping 2 clones in veg to keep the strain going.

as to the lighting yes CFL will do the job, I am not well versed in this area, I use 1000w HPS / MH....check the stickies & do a search and you find all you need to know about the amount of CFL's you need.

when you transplant run the roots under running water to remove all that crap and plant her fresh. OK

ofcourse when she recovers and comes of age you need to sex this plant, no point in cloning a bunch of males eh?

How high above the top leaves should i place the light? i have it about..... 4 maybe 4-1/2 inches above the top leaves. the light doesnt make my hand too warm.. but i dont think im a good judge of heat.. the leaves seem to be getting slightly darker and the new leaves that came out are NOT curling and that is definatly good, the old ones however are staying pretty retartedly curly.. well not that bad but havent changed. there is a good amount of new leaves however. let me know distance and i think ill be set. er one more question, should i be rising the light as it grows? liek should i keep the same height from the leaves? and how should this change when i get my 400w hps?

might get it a smidgeon closer, 2-3 inches and yes you keep raising them, you might also add some to the sides. For the hps you will start out at 2ft and then adjust downward after they become use to it. I can get mine around 12" comfortaly and 8-9" in a pinch. Of, course the lower the light the smaller the foot print(area that it covers). So optimally I like to keep mine around 16". I know it was the long way around it but I thought the explanation might be helpful.
