100w HPS Need Ballast?
I've got a newly acquired 100w HPS bulb, but i have like no money for a ballast. So my question is do i need a ballast? or could i make one? I really want this thing for flowering in a couple of weeks. If there is anyone who knows anything about this subject PLEASE HELP!

Hps have negative resistance, meaning they are unable to regulate the amount of current that passes through them. You need a ballast to control the flow of electricity. Without a ballast you will cause the lamp to fail.
