Need to know genetics of a cross!! *Snow Wreck*

sup guys, i have no idea where to post this, so heres hoping somebody looks in on this.

I got my hands on some nug awhile back, and it was hands down top 3, probaly top 2, of nugs ive ever smoked

shit was called snow wreck.... im about 100% sure it was trainwreck, but crossed with what??

ice maybe?

i dont know any strains named of snow, but im pretty sure they exist....

ice x trainwreck would be a sick cross either way...

the snowwreck i got was so potent, so flavorful, so sticky.... so heavenly...

i would love to make this cross/strain happen again in the future

anybody got any SOLID, ideas on the genetics of this hybrid???

again i think its trainwreck x ice

but im open to anything really... its gotta be atleast trainwreck x *mystery*

because cmon... snow.. WRECK..

anyways, thanks for any help guys

Re: Need to know genetics of a cross!! *Snow Wreck*

I have never heard of this strain, and I know breeders & growers everywhere. It may be a local strain created by a local grower. I would not just assume it is Ice; there are so many crosses I do know of that could result w/ that name; such as: Snow White X TW & Hawiian Snow X TW.

Ice is a very low yielding plant. I just can't imagine some-one crossing TW into it. But who knows.

Re: Need to know genetics of a cross!! *Snow Wreck*

I read about SnoWreck somewhere before. if I remember correctly it was Train Wreck crossed with a Local Cali Strain called Snow Cap.

Supposed to be REAL Good.

Re: Need to know genetics of a cross!! *Snow Wreck*

haha.... yah the shit was REALLLL GOOD... to put it the least...
haha... yah ive never heard of it before i got some myself... it very well could be a local strain...

i don't know for sure if it was ice, and im leaning against that now after doing a bit of reading...

i think it might have been snow white x train wreck...

the only reason i mention ice is because this bud was absoluty COATED in crystals... and was so stanky, and sticky, and just... ooyey gooyey goodness.

idk about the haiwain snow, in the end, i think im going to settle on snow white (ive heard its similiar to ice, in that it produces buds COATED with trics and crystals... but its bud is a lot denser and bigger yielder than ice)

either way, in the next yr or two, i WILL make some snowwreck appear in my hands....

the shit was too good to put down... i can't not smoke it again...

its gonna be a bitch to make though, they're damn sure not any breeders out there selling seeds...

i can get my hands on snow white though, and hopefully i can find some train wreck seeds.... altho that remains to be seen as well....

anyways, thanks for the help yall.

Re: Need to know genetics of a cross!! *Snow Wreck*

You know I'm totally against GHS and dislike Arjan and Franco, but they do offer a Train Wreck that I hear from a couple of growers is like 75% of the original TW. The Snow White is available so you could try that.

I have searched high and low, if there are true TW seeds out there, the Emerald Triangle breeders are not comming off them. As far as I know it is clone only. Same w/ Urkel, been wanting that for years too.

About 6 months ago a grower friend of mine had some nugs of a strain he said was Alaskan Snow Balls. It was supposedly a cross of Mr. Nice's Black Widow X Nirvana's Snow White X Cannabiogen's Destroyer. It was from an East Coast indoor grower/breeder. I wonder if that was the same stuff, just a different name. It was very white and well coated, and if you left a nug on the tray over night it would be crystalized in the morning.

Re: Need to know genetics of a cross!! *Snow Wreck*

word, i been trying to track down some legit TW seeds.... and its hard... haha..

i found one last night, that might be legit... it says the genetics come FROM the clone... so me thinks somebody took a clone, grew it and made it produce some seeds....

that'd be worth a try possibly...

worst comes to worst, and not that its that bad, im no longer on the east coast ( but thats where i aquired the nug... in mass) and im close enough to cali, that i might have to make a weekend trip one day in the future and go buy some legit clones and then high tail it back to my place of residence.. haha

however i dunno if you need a med card to go buy clones?? me thinks you might... so that might be a problem...

however it would so be worth it to get a 100% gaurenteed train wreck, in clone form, to make my strain with...

i think im gunna make this my first project.... right now im just using seeds, fems, never tried to make a cross before, but god damn, this nug was just out of sight, haha, ive gotta try!!!

even if its not quite the same thing, snow white x TW, ill still call it snow wreck, and ill have a snowball of a good time...

as for your strain being the same, i mean, its always possible, people do take the same nug, and call it by different names in different areas

however i have a strong feeling that its not the case... snowwreck is definetly crossed with TW, and your alaskan ice balls or whatever....

i don't know, it would just be a crime to change the name from its genetics that much that its unrecognizable.... atleast with the name snowwreck i have a chance at re-creating the nug.... but with a name like that strain, i have a feeling its genetics find its roots with the alaskan thunderfuck strain crossed with something else...

Re: Need to know genetics of a cross!! *Snow Wreck*

Thats pretty Cool that your trying to replicate the strain.

I think you need to dig deeper and find out FOR SURE what the parents were.

The man that taught me how to grow has been breeding since the 80's.
Right now he's working on a special project 2.5 years in the making.
He's using a few black strains and some Hazes. Cross-breeding and back crossing.
Right Now he has a MONSTER.

Breeding definatley has me interested as well. Next summer I will attempt a few controled Crosses.

Good Luck.

Re: Need to know genetics of a cross!! *Snow Wreck*

Like some of the posts said before the "snow" could be snow white, sno cap, ice maybe some others I can't think of. I did a quick search and came across this on another forum:

Quote:

The first is a clone-only California-only strain known as Snowcap, which produces a very clear and cerebral high with a very potent sweet fruity smell, though the high, while very potent is overly lethargic and after a hour or so is sort of muddled, the high kind of melts from snow into slush a bit... even though the first hour makes you realize why its called Snowcap. The combination of the two relaxes the intense and sometimes frighteningly powerful experience of Train Wreck while keeping the snowcap .. I don't know, somehow focused enough to keep putting out an "enjoyable" stone without drifting into muddled mediocrity.

How I have partoken this blessing of the gods: Volcano Digital, 180 degrees Celsius.

Bag Appeal

The nugs are great, a mixture of big ones that can't fit the grinder (albeit my grinder is small, heh.) and little easy to grind popcorns. No leaves stems or seeds, beautifully manicured. This is really well grown weed but Not the best grown weed. if it were the best, it'd still have some leaves on there that were covered in resin. However, this is a beautiful manicuring job, no leaves at all just pure buds. Really, really tight nugs, to where its kind of an issue because you don't want to crush the trichomes wrestling with it but yet you don't want to grind up big stem pieces in with the bud and then have to pick the stems out from the ground up little mass. It's also a Pain in my Ass to grind. not that I mind heh

The Smell

The smell is wonderful though it has none of the lemon of train-wreck, only the menthol, its mostly the piney-fruity smell of the Snowcap. basically mentholated pine and fruit.

The High

Stoney, couch-lock, yet alert and creative. lasts a very long time and feels really nice on the mood, its one of the best sort of smooth mellow mood feelings that just melts right off and doesn't really dip out for the whole day. Also extremely powerful, as strong as Jack Herer or Train Wreck, it is 50% Train Wreck, after all.

10/10. This is my current favorite weed ever.

Someone posted a pic of what they called Snow Wreck aswell:

Hope this helps.

Re: Need to know genetics of a cross!! *Snow Wreck*

hey thanks man.

that nug in the pic does't really look like the nugs i got, but the taste/smell sounds about right....

your the 2nd person to mention this snowcap thing...

so im fairly sure its TW x Snow cap.

i dont know if ill ever be able to get ahold of this snowcap,

so i might skate around it a bit and just go with snow white and TW for my cross...

but much thanks for the info man!!

Re: Need to know genetics of a cross!! *Snow Wreck*

the genetics of the strain "Snow X Wreck" is "Snowcap" crossed with "Trainwreck". These are two potent sativa's by themselves, but mixed together they create an extremely potent sativa. im not sure if it's local to anywhere, but i have bought "Snow X Wreck" and I live in So Cal. It is covered in trich.'s and they are very sticky if you get it fresh, it can be dry. but overall a potent strain worth buying if you can get it. make sure its covered in trich.'s and looks similar to the cannabis on my website, this is good stuff.
*check out my website for a review on this strain.*

a friend of mine up north grows that stuff and im sure he has a mother of it...I personally dont like it... i dont like either strain...i just gave him a cut of Grand Daddy x Grape Ape ,Sour Diesel,Purple Kush,White Widow, and Green Crack...i'm sure those ones will keep him busy and he'll soon forget about that snowreck stuff.
