12 strains grow from C99 - troublemaker

in all of the talk i've done here about strains, mostly sativas and C99 in particular, i've been asked alot of questions that i can't answer from personal experience. now, i've commited myself to growing out all of the strains that i've collected over the past 2 years and am covering them in my GC grow journal.

please do stop by the thread and take a look.
http://forum.grasscity.com/grow-jour...ious-grow.html

i just started growing

spice brothers:
C99 splash
(A11g X lien huanh) X A11g

serious seeds:
kali mist

high quality seeds:
haze X skunk #1

soma's sacred seeds:
buddha's sister (X G13 haze?)

vancouver island seedbank:
burmese

nirvana:
california orange skunk
bubblicious
pure power plant

sativa seedbank:
mixed sativa

dr. chronic:
troublemaker

&
flumpy's
lowdown mystery

there, you'll be able to see how $20 knockoffs & freebies compare against $100 high end seeds. nothing beats side by side comparison and the most important part of this grow report wil REALLY be the detailed SMOKE REPORTS! that's the most important thing in my book and far too many of you out there give shitty smoke reports (if you even bother) and even worse descritions when you do!

WTF good is this smoke report?
"man, this is the best shit i ever smoked!"

what? nah uh! a real smoke report talks about:
flavor
aroma
potentcy
harshness
expansion (coughing)
creeper vs. instant
couchlock vs. energy
spaciness
euphoria
trippiness
duration
&
burnout etc.

i'm not going to skimp on those details as soon as i have them and will be directly comparing all of these strains against each other. are lowryder crosses REALLY as shitty as the few isolated reports i've read say? you'll find out when i compare it to everything else in the grow

hope you don't think this thread is spam as it's really about my grow journal, but with all of these strains in one grow and the detailed comparisons i intent to do, i hope it proves helpful to the people here only for seedbank info. i'll be testing a dozen strains from 9 seedbanks. that's as much good seedbank lowdown as it is grow reporting.

with that, i'll come back here after the cure and give a detailed smoke report for everything to help everyone looking for good strains for their grows.

now, i'm not longer coming here and jerking off, i'm GROWING.

just go to the link i gave you. C99 splash is part of the grow journal.

no, C99 splash isn't EXACTLY C99. it's C99 with a tiny bit of potent and trippy vietnamese lien huanh backcrossed to C99 several times. i'm guessing 4 for about 6% LH. the product descriptions claimed that a connouisseur couldn't tell the difference between C99 & C99 splash and from the plants i started but never finished, i could tell that there was very little of 12 foot tall LH in it. the plants were small & had wide leaves that looked like straight up indica.

it doesn't really matter though because you can't get C99 splash anymore anyways. spice brothers have been gon for more than a year by now.

please take any other comments and questions to the grow journal. this thread was only supposed to be a notice. i don't want to cover the grow in two threads. doing all of the discussion there will keep all of the info in one convenient spot for everyone.

just click the link i gave, and you're there. can't make it any easier for ya.

false alarm

between yesterday and today, the kids are finally jumpin'! the last A11 popped, 2 C99s, 2 buddha's sisters, 2 troublemakers, 1 pure power plant, and 1 haze skunk. i should have remembered, plants sprout when they're ready to sprout. the buddha's sisters ones like to dig deep before showing their heads i think. one of them has a thicker stem than the 1st batch of sprouts already and she just opened her 1st set of leaves this morning.

that sickly looking burmese is still just sitting there. i think it's dead. i'll probably end up soaking one or two more to make up for it and probably the other damaged one. i hope the undamaged one still pops though.

i tell you, these peat based soil mixes are a pain in the ass to maintain. they dry up so quick it isn't even funny. even with a fan blowing directly on them, plants grown in a "real soil" mix take a couple days to dehydrate and that's with a plant that's rootbound! there's too much airspace in organic mulch compost. hopefully it will make the plants grow well though as their roots won't ever have trouble breathing.

i still like working with old school soil though. you can visually see when the soil needs watering when the surface dries and watering is just a matter of giving each plant a squirt until water intake slows down. just with these tiny little pots, i'm already using as much water as i would a full shoplight's worth of 16 oz. cups. i guess i'll just have to get used to a "water, water & more water" routine.

it's OK though. it's exciting to watch the little critters growing knowing that i'll have more high grade weed and variety in the next few months than i've smoked in the entire past 20 years! fuck greedy ass east coast indica only dealers!

BTW, i'm not doing this grow to make any money. i'll give whatever i can't smoke or don't like away. i just want to FINALLY get an old school trippy buzz again like i've missed all these years after thai disappeared.

i'm kind of preaching to the choir where i am now though. the 3 times i've been smoked out here have been so much more clear headed than all of the same old same old couchlock buzzes i had to endure back east. there's alot of love in the grows here. one of the strains i smoked was stony, but two were alert and euphoric and potent to boot and one had a slight trippy edge. after a couple light bowl hits of that and one woofin' bong hit, i was coughing 'till i puked a little and even got the dizzies and a little paranoia off that which reminded me of a good thai hit. it probably hit me so hard too because i have absolutely no tolerance yet. i've been revirginized! LOL

aside from the desire to get a trippy buzz again, it will also be fun to try strains that have some flavor. orange, bubble gum, red pepper, lemon, pineapple & sour cherry? yum! i swear, growers back east only seem to grow commercial afghanis with the same put you to sleep in three hits if it's potent buzz. man i hate that shit!

the only two strains i've had that had any flavor were the 1 gram freebies i got of peppery kali mist & licorice flavored durban poison, but no amount of begging or bribing would get me any more of those. what a fucking tease! give a man who's just crossed the sahara on his hands and knees a dixie cup of water and say "see ya". as much as the flavor of licorice disgusts me and smoking durban gave me the dry heaves, i'd still rather smoke that than all of the indicrap in the world any day for it's clear headed buzz you can still function on.

that was originally another one of my motivations for indoor growing and give aways... educate the masses that have NEVER had the chance to experience a sativa high so they turn on their dealers and beat the shit out of them for overcharging them with inferior smoke! oh do i fucking hate dealers!

if you want something done right... DIY
