Does "skunk" mean any specific heritage?

I am growing some skunk #11 by Dutch Passion mostly because I was at a store and the person working said it's good and a nice high for what I was saying I wanted. The leaves are very indica looking, short and stubby. I emailed DP and asked what the lineage is but no answer. I'm just wondering if something is a "skunk" weed does it mean it came from certain parents or do skunks tend to be mutts?

i forgot the exact line but i think its 1/4 afghan 1/4 acupulco(sp) gold and 2 other relatives. its 75/25 sativa dominant and supposed to stank like no other. have fun with that

edit: this is taken directly from doc chron's website

skunk#1 (75% Sativa, 25% Indica) was originally a cross between 25% Afghani, 25% Mexican Acapulco Gold and 50% Columbian Gold. This variety is a stabilized homogeneous strain.Blooms with long, thick buds, varying in color from light green to golden. Very high flower to leaf ratio. Mold susceptible the last 6 weeks of flowering. Soft and sweet aroma and a very strong "up" high. Excellent variety for indoor growing or greenhouse with darkening system.Very high yields. Easy to manicure

hope that helps

Thanks.

Dutch Passion has not not and probably will not answer my email about it's genetics. Like I said, mine is very indica looking although still only a foot tall. That could change. I have two true indicas on the way so I hope this one is an "up high" like sativas afterall. I have noticed that even at 6 inches tall when I'd get close to water I could really smell them- like mint. I don't know if all plants have that smell but all I could imagine at the time was them being 5 feet and full of flowers and the neighbors wondering what the heck the smell is.

I might consider neem oil the last few weeks to make sure the buds don't get moldy. Anyone think neem is safe or that it might leave something funky on a plant?

I wouldn't worry about treating them unless you are in a very humid environment.

Florida/Georgia for both locations. As far as I know that's pretty humid.
