I straight up just like hitting bongs. Also, I've smoked some quality grass in some quality glass, so my experience might be different.

Due to the increased amount of delicious smoke my lungs are ingesting over and over, I get higher and higher.

It sucks, because I really want to hit a bong, but I'm not getting another few gs for a few more hours, shit.

THC isnt water soluable, so it wont dissolve into water, so the water wont absorbe any THC from the smoke

now it will catch the resin in the water, and that is why the smoke is smoother/ cleaner and resin has 10X the THC in it ..if im not mistaken

Resin, or pipe tar is actually very low in potency. It does get you high and I remember when I first started smoking I got really high off it. But it definitely isn't 10X as strong.


Studies have shown that although tricomes are not water soluable (hash, kif) that when smoked THC has been shown to be lessened in machines developed to test it when filtered through a waterpipe.

However the results are very strange in that they deem waterpipes "counterproductive" but people are saying something totally different.

Therefore there is a reason for the test results saying what they say but people saying they get higher- and it's not placebo and it's not lack of oxygen.


This weekend I'm going to make a new thread that discusses this and we will put an end to "waterpipes are counterproductive". It's a charade that has gone on long enough.

just because a substance dissolves in alcohol but not water readily doesn't freakin' mean the coolness of bong water doesn't flash freeze tons of thc right back into a solid state in the water or on the glass

face it the more surface you work with the colder it is and the more water you filter with (diffuser or just loaded to the max bong) the less everything you get including thc

bongs are worse and no 'quality' glass bullshit is gonna change that fact now try water below the downstem and a vapor bowl

thats about as close as a bong will ever get to being worth the use of your bud

cashing a bowl to blackness is just stupid and your water is now tar and thc muck not worth drinking...you can drink vapor bong juice :P

Well obviously bongs do work, and nobody would sensibly argue otherwise. I do find that when I smoke out of a bong more, I go through weed faster. I get higher faster, but I use a lot of pot. I also never thought about the thermal transfer deal that Ars mentioned. Also, I remember DBW(I think it was her) doing an experiment with weed coffee. While the THC doesn't dissolve in the water, it did still get filtered out some. It sat oily on top of the coffee.

I still think my bongs have their place, but I definately don't use them exclusively.
