So I got some mids to use for baking, get home and see some small white spots on it, not webby at all, not really fuzzy, just some spots with white. I used like prob 15x magnifier (no camera, sorry these shots are blurry, I think the third one is best...) but that doesn't get spores or anything, but it also didn't look like much was coming off of thewhite. It was almost like where a branch or stem was, and its just lighter. Concern here is obv mold or mildew or what have you. ANY HELP is appreciated, even ask questions about it so I can help.
I'll try to update when I get home with a better camera from a friend.

Again didn't reall seemlike a powder on it, just like the pieces are white. strange.

Does it smell weird or anything? I have never seen this on any bud i got, but I wouldn't be too worried. Is the bud really moist still? I mean it is possible that your dealer fucked up drying it, but I would need better pics. I will check back later to see if you posted any new ones

mcap,
Nah not particularly.
It was dry, not my usuual guy, I get headis this was for food so its mids/beasters, actually looks better than I thought it would (minus the white).

steelcity,
yeh that the idea, for baking you know. dried out, almost none or just no moisture, smell was like midi weed, not potent or too strong, but you could smell it was weed. I even think feeling the white sections were consistent with the rest of the bud.

Yeah pics kinda suck sorry, but its kinda like a white color on what could be stems, but slightly is on the bud. hard to explain, def need a camera but if anyone can give other clues to help identify, or even what to do, much appreciated.

obviously do not say bring it back, thats obvious, if i find it to be moldy or whatever. please just keep it to constructive posts. Thanks for the help for the two above.

if you really wanna find out (i know it sucks cause you cant use the weed yet but) let it sit out for another day and compare to the pictures, see if the white shit changes cause they you can assume its a fungus. If not... your probably safe man

Hmm, It's hard to tell if it's moldy from a picture, your best bet is to get it under a light and inspect it inside out. Supposedly bud mold looks kinda furry like cob webs/soap foam but i have never actually seen any myself. Good luck.

yea steelcity hit it right on the button, it looks like rolled up cobwebs with hairs, my friend had some weed that he got from an iffy hook that was really moldy

how much magnification you think I need?
I'll do this tonight, try to compare to pics online
but to make sure I understand, if im not getting molecular with my magnifying, IM going to look for a webby/foamy fuzz physical look, and if it looks more like the white is just on the stem/piece, meaning nothing really risiing up from it (other than what the rest of the bud has) then I should be ok right?

I dont wanna get anyone sick from baking with it. I do not plan on smoking it, but I don't feel comfortable baking with it unless I'm pretty sure. and ill tell everyone who wants one. and ill eat it myself...

oh and just a thought, what about mildew, i think its usually powdery, but any help in identifying that? it couldn't be anything else right, like nutrients or whatnot. prob not bugs either as i didnt see anything moving

so I lookedat it this morning (not last night) and either i pulled most of it off, or is ALMOST appears as though the white has reduced in size/on the bud. m it seems more normal

is this a good sign or no sign?

edit:
the more im reading, it seems as though it should GET WORSE over time, not the opposite, but is this true for dry bud (received it dry, NOT WET). Also confirmed itwas not sprayed (atleast to his knowledge) and my guy even crackde up the rest of the bag he had to inspect and didn't see anything.

I cracked mine open, nothing to eye. Brining a camera back but should I be all that concerned?

PS Im still hoping to cook with it, but not if its harmful, no reason to get others sick.

Any response is appreciated.
