Discussion: When Does Smoking Become a Problem.

I was wondering what the people of Grass City think about smoking becoming a bad habit or problem. What do you think are the signs of some one with a problem or some one who has taken it to far? What level does a person have to reach for pot smoking to be a problem?

Personally I feel like it is when it starts to consume their life, they become lazy and their normally every day routine becomes harder or interrupted due to marijuana use. Say missing school or dropping greats.

What about every one else what do you think is a bad sign of over access pot usage?

When your grades drop, interferes with sports, takes you away from your family, using it everyday mainly to get away from problems... I just stopped it for 4 monthes, and went back to once per week or less

If it takes over your life instead of just being a part of it then you have a problem. Skipping school, missing work, buying weed before paying bills...those are problems. Some people can smoke everyday and keep their shit together and some can't. It has nothing to do with the green though. It's all about a person's personality and what they can and can't handle.

Speaking from experience, I think someone who has taken it too far is the person who freaks out if they run out even for a day or two! I've been on a 1/2 a week habit for a while now and I just realized I need to slow down. Thankfully, there's a bit of a drought in my area so it's as if the gods are helping me take a little break!

I think you also have a problem if you blow off your obligations/plans to get high, like if you call in sick to wake and bake....

pot isnt my life, i think aboutit a lot but its not, my grades have been the same, possibly a little better since i was smoking, taking away from family memebers is right cause some of u might know how much i hate my sister for ratting on my to my parents

My bad, I was high last night an thinking. Just sort of made it on a whim did not think to search around for somethign simmilar. I am new to smoking and the though of abuse came in to my mind. I dont think I am there yet or close to there. Although right now I have a fair amount of time off so I can smoke w-sunday but next quarter with school I will be much more busy and I was thinking about smoking once a week.

if you can't live life without it youve probably taken it to far :-) my grades ,well some classes have dropped a little some have gona up, i think my gpa went down though by likee .1 or .2 nothing noticable

Recently for me smoking became a problem. I was smoking to relieve stress that was caused by smoking. Haha, didn't really work out for me so I decided to take a break. Plus I did really shitty first semester at college and I know what I have to do second semester and I want to stay there. So yeah, for now smokings causing me problems and I'm done with it for the time being. I'm sure there'll be a time somewhere down the road where I reintroduce myself to mary jane, but for now it's something I don't need in my life.

man what a great topic i always asked my self the same thing..i guess im an example of living proof how it effects everything around you... straight a student i was till i started smoking in 9th grade and just fucked up..later i stoped for a bit till problems started in my house..parents fighting..and yep the smoking started again, even got one of my bestfriends to start and he went out of control spending at least $800 a month on pot.. later his dad figured out where his money was going, big as trouble..everyone noticed the crazy change in him...well my bro's going away dinner to the air force i killed cause of being highe..So yes its the person to blame for using pot as an escuse to answer problems...ima dumb ass...peace

I believe it is a problem when you realize that everything you do, you need to be high. Thus creating the weed before bills and skipping school/work. Weed is not to blame, like RMJL said previously, it is how a person handles the situation around them.
