i CAN NOT roll a joint

OK so I've been smoking for about 3 years, but me and my friends always bong it or stick it in a pipe. We have never even considerd joints untill now. Tomorrow we are going to the beach to smoke, so we wana be more descrete, and are although I have smoked joints before, some of my friends havent and want to just to see the diffrenece. I tried rolling like 4 or 5 practice joints using dry oatmeal instaed of weed, since i dont wana waste my weed on crappy joints that dont work. I have seen several guides on the net, even with pictures but i still cant get it. Heres my problem. when i get to where you roll it, i have the oatmeal in the center of the paper, where the crease is, and its evenly distributed. But then i just cant roll it. I try using my thumbs, using figers, moving every way i can, and instaed of it rolling in to a joint, i just mush the oatmeal back and forth, and it never actually "rolls". What am i doing wrong? any help would be greatly apreacated, and dont tell me to use teh search button, because i did, and didnt find any answers. Thanks a lot for your help,

rollin weed is gonna be alot easier then oatmeal...its sticky so it will form better. if worst comes to worse you could always just pre roll it around a pen and stuff it...thats what i used to do.

you should go to your local smoke shop and a get a zig zag joint roller, they make the tightest little joints, thats how i roll my cigerates now 'er days.

break it up so that the piecies are no bigger then lincolns head (on a penny). fold the pape in half and put the buds on it. now start usin both ya thumbs and index fingers to roll the paper back and forth so that the buds come together. apply pressure so that ya can make the bud as condensed as desired. this makes it easier to start rolling it which ya jus make one end larger and roll the small end upwards and over the bud and tuck it. Roll it and ya done.

im in the same boat with you though. i can't roll joints for shit. if you do get a rolling machine though, don't get a Graffix roller. i had one, it was clear crappy plastic and the mat never really got tight enough to roll a nice tight j. i just stick to hand rolling if im desperate, even though they look pretty bad. they roll pretty evenly though.

it takes time and practice.. i didn't get the hang of it right away.. the best way to learn is to watch other people do it and if they don't mind you asking, ask questions, like why are you doing that? what's that?

My technique of joint rolling can be done by a 1st grader.

Get a pen, wrap the paper around it tightly lick and stick. Then twist the end of one side, pull the pen out, walla you got a joint. Put small amounts of weed in joint and pack it with the pen you used to wrap it around.

I can back that up 100%. Best roller I've used. You can get some big cones out of it!

I can roll a decent joint by hand, but it takes me a bit.

yeah, put the bud evenly into the paper, and then fold it all the way in half with bud at bottom. take your thumbs and index fingers (the only ones you need to be using to hold the paper) and roll the paper up and down with your fingers right above the weed on the bottom, it forms it into a condensed circular shape. then roll the paper down some and flip it over and finish the roll... (if that is any clearer than his)

Practice practice practice, dont try to roll the weed, instead try to roll the paper around the weed, its hard to put into words ya know? But seriously dont buy those rollers there for sellouts, just try your best, and eventually youll be rolling joints as straight as cigs.

me too.......but yeah ive heard good things about the rollers........also if ur gonna practice rollin i would suggest usin tobacco.........
