thats good to hear ^^ I was actually looking on craigslist today for an Iolite and found one at $170 brand new. Planning on buying it this week once money comes in. Getting a guarter of northern light tomorrow too! anyways, i got my da buddha vaporizer about 2 weeks ago and it was my first vape. I didnt know what to expect and even thought it was broken at one point haha. After 2-3 days of experimenting, i got it down to a science. Even made a bong for my vape out of a water bottle haha. |

So i just purchased an ioLite Pocket Vape a couple of days ago... this thing is amazing! Its the first vape that i've owned, though I have smoked out of a few of the more popular, such as the volcano, I find that the iolite best fits me.... because i can smoke WHERE EVER the hell i want! Literally. First day I owned this thing I took it out to a small pizza shop, ordered some stromboli and baklava, and vaped right in the restaurant. Not only does this thing not look conspicuous at all, there is hardly any smell at all, and what little noise the thing does produce can be covered up pretty darn easily. I highly recommend all of you vaporizer connoisseurs go out and buy one if you have the cash readily available... its either that or i can totally see these things becoming a smoking fad in the near future... if anybody has any questions on the ioLite, i'm more than willing to help out! smoke long and prosper, dreJay |

just cleaned my vape yesterday. wow, this thing is crystal clear now. the "bowl" part of it was disgusting. you could barely see through it because it was clogged with residue/resin. i threw it in a plastic ziploc bag, threw some 99% alcohol in there, a shitload of salt, shook it for a few minutes, then let it sit for about 20 minutes super clean now. the whip is still miscolored, but there is no clogging or anything. i cant wait to use it again.

I have a question that may seem very noobish, but I have been smoking for a while and am just very inexperienced with vaps. Now, I understand the point of vaps is to release cannabinoids without burning the plant matter really, so if you were to vap kief, is there is a great reduction in mass after vaping it, as kief is mostly trichomes (trichs = cannabinoids), and vaping obviously vaporizes them? ![]() (as in, does the pile of kief noticeably get much smaller after a good vap sesh) ![]() |

My Iolite should be here by Tomorrow, if not Thursday I went to Home Depot and bought a 2.1 OZ BERNZOMATIC Butane for $3.00. I've read shitty butane will definately mess up the igniter. How do I tell if it is a good butane or not? It doesn't have the "wash" or "filtered" number on it to tell.

Hey, I'm not sure if others do this but just a few minutes ago i decided to scrape down the resin that's built up on the whip of my Budda. Changed the screen while I was at it because bad screens are a no no. Make sure your screens are clean. Got the whip out of the glass so i was just handling the glass itself. Took the marble pick that they supply you with and started getting the easier chunks of resin built up. Had a nice pile. Then i got to the hard part, scraping down the sides. I began by blowing through the side of the glass where you put the bud in. Blow slowly and keep a firm grip on the glass to heat it up. After doing this i began scraping the walls of the whip. All in all i got about .3 of resin? Anyways, i found a baggy with some leaves in it from what was once northern lights. Put that in the bowl with a layer of the resinated bud. All I can say is, for vaping everyday for the past month or two, i am as baked as ive been in a while. Maybe my shortage of weed for the past day and a half may have contributed, but ive had a hit or two between that day. Im baked as hell typing this post actually haha. Im not sure if its me or the bud, but i think the resin on the glass in pertty much pure THC. As it builds up through all the weed and all the vaping, you just get a thick wall. Ive probably vaped half an O through it and this is my first cleaning so you do the math. Next time Ill post pictures, but now im just rambling. Oh and im planning on taking my vaped bud that ive collected (5gs, had more but smoked it on a dry day) and mixing in about 3 gs of fresh northern light and some purp. Anyone have experience or can give me tips on baking/eating/the high? thanks Sparknote. Scraped down the resin on my Buddha glass whip. Put it in a bowl with less than .1 of northern lights. Im faded as balls considering ive been smoking/vaping weed everyday since my last break (month ago) |

I also have sort of a noob question. I made one of those lightbulb vapes. I want to try it this weekend, but im worried that the abscence of the cannabinoids it doesnt release into my lungs wont get me the feeling that i want. Does it get you higher? I want the pink floyd, floating, heavy gravity feeling

Buy a good quality, but not overly expensive "entry-level" vaporizer. ![]() I used to vape with the lightbulb and it really tastes awful once you vape from quality heating elements instead of flame > lightbulb > 1mm thin glass > bud. No offense intended, and if you aren't able to afford one at the moment, then lightbulb is what you're using, fair enough. If that's the case I'll still say the lightbulb vape did definitely work, it was just harder to control the temperature (was more inclined to burn my herb). Therefore, I'd say don't worry about the bud not being hot enough, worry about it burning and concentrate on controlling that.

nstead of starting another thread I'll just post my review of the Iolite here for everyone to read. Well I ordered it off of eBay. I paid $185.00 with FREE Shipping compared to the $250.00 price tag you will find at any head shop or online store. I ordered it Monday, and it arrived Thursday afternoon. First impressions are very good. The packaging the Iolite arrives in is well made. Stiff, smooth cardboard and nicely designed. Upon opening the Iolite box you find the Iolite itself. Along with a small booklet of color illustrated instructions as well as a quick reference guide. Also included is the nice carrying case that holds the Iolite as well as the hardware that comes with the vaporizer. A few cleaning wands for the whip, some mouthpiece extensions, a bowl screen, moister condenser piece, and a tool to empty the butane tank as well as do maintenance on the Vaporizer. The Iolite, empty, is very light. Holding it in my hand feels nice and besides the whip it looks very discreet. Although it doesn't seem the sturdiest or toughest piece of smoking equipment I've owned that doesn't take away from its function at all. First thing to do is fill the Iolite with butane. Now I've read not to use any type of butane you find. Cheap butane that is industrial or hasn't been filtered a number of times is a no go. Do not go cheap on the butane you put in the Iolite cause it will break the Vaporizer (so I've read). Purchase Vector or Calibri butane. The first problem I found with the Iolite was filling it. Many people upon first filling will do this wrong. When first filling, you must hold the butane can completely upright to the filling inlet on the tank. If you do not you will have a problem either not filling it enough or by accident letting it all out thinking you have filled it. Press FIRMLY on the can to the inlet and hold for about 15 seconds or so. If you see it spurt any liquid from the top, that means you're filling it incorrectly or it is completely full. Once it is filled, let it sit for about 8-10 minutes. The butane tank must reach a certain temperature to operate properly. Insert weed. Not powder fine, but somewhat close to it. The more surface area the better. I'm not sure the micron rating on the screen so use your best judgement. Switch the Iolite on. You'll hear a medium to loud hissing noise coming from the exhaust port. Click the pezio igniter button and you should see a small spark on the front of the Iolite followed by a small orange light glow for a few seconds then it should go out. This means it is heating up. Wait between 5-7 minutes and maximum temperature should be reached. It doesn't exceed this temperature. On the draw, draw slowly if possible. This can be hard for most to do (including me). A slow draw is better to keep a constant temperature of air flow passing through the bowl. I've only used the Iolite once since yesterday afternoon and I thoroughly enjoyed using it. It is light, not flashy, and functions well once you get it working. The only gripes I have about it is that it can get a little toasty holding in your hand as it is heating and at its max temperature. Do not enclose it in anything because it needs to exhaust the used butane which you can notice by the hissing noise every 15-20 seconds. Also, the threaded connection that connects the mouthpiece to the Iolite bowl is plastic. Although the insert on the bowl is stainless steel, the thread on the mouthpiece is plastic. My friends mouthpiece thread has already snapped off into the bowl which he then removed with the tip of a knife. This is caused by the high temperature that the bowl reaches. To avoid this happening to you, take slow and steady draws. Don't rush smoking it. And when finished, shut off the Iolite, and let it sit until it cools down without touching it. They now sell a small attachment piece that removes that plastic thread and replaces it with a stainless steal thread. My friend emailed them and they are going to send him a replacement (they asked for a picture of the broken part FYI). I believe soon the new Iolites will come with this standard. I give it a 8.7/10.
