Rasta at work...what do you think?

Ok mon, no worries mon. So this older guy at work, straight from Jamaica is one of the coolest guys at work. Whenever he walks in the kitchen we'll be jamming to some reggae of some sort (whatever the cooks want that day) and all he talks about is "getting his head right after work." he'll make rolling gestures and shit allll day! its so funny, and everyone jokes with him. I've heard a story of him trying to smuggle green in from the motherland, apparently POUNDS and Pounds of it were caught, he made his one call and was free. (I work at a prestigious place, almost all the ex-supreme court officials come in for dinner, regularly...they were his "one call")

So the cat is out of the box, the man smokes. However, he truly has a different outlook on it than your average kid im sure, so this is my dilemma... I want to talk to him more about bud.

I know he has to know so much, have great connections, probably growing himself etc etc etc. and I would love to talk to him about it! (its a little tough wit his accent though haha!)
but how do I go about asking him?

I don't want to offend him and I don't want to really catch him off guard or something in the work place. Could I pull him aside and ask to talk after work? Then just be like, "I'd liek to talk, if you don't want to thats fine" and just go from there...?

I don't want to buy from him, I don't want a connect, I just want to LEARN! plus i heard he hands out big green nugs to his friends in the kitchen all the time

Ultimately I want to learn, I want the insight and knowledge an older smoker would be able to give to me. Especially from another country such as Jamaica. what do you think?

Re: Rasta at work...what do you think?

i would just pull him on the side and let him know whats up..you said he hands out nugs to the other cooks so i dont think it would look too suspicious but dont make it look obvious..talk to him like a regular person..

Re: Rasta at work...what do you think?

Dude just roll up a joint and be like "you wanna smoke this with me after work?"

you don't have to treat him like any special person, he prob just wants to be treated just like everyone else.. so just talk to him like a normal person.

damn man, where are your social skills?

Dont just ask to talk to him after work, talk during work, just talk about bud, im sure it will come up sooner or later, if not make it come up haha.

OR

This will probably work...smoke him up!!!! (after work) then you will be in good w/ him for sure

Re: Rasta at work...what do you think?

so on my burn ride tonight i ran by work to grab my ipod. some of the guys were there, jammin of course (10 oclock at night) and i talked to one of the guys about him. he said the guy is totally cool and i should just go for it.

the reason i was hesitant is because I am new to the work place, and I rarely see him in my area. he's also liek 45+ years old...not the regular age of a guy i would just walk up to and ask to smoke with me haha. (im 19)

Re: Rasta at work...what do you think?

Age, apperance, race, hell, even language have nothing to do with anything when you're both stoners. Iv'e smoked with some geeky-ass white kids, and some fuckin' street-hard thugs, old-ass men, and everyone in between.

If they don't speak english, everyone knows what smoking a joint or hitting a bong looks like, so just do that

Go for it man, just tell him you want to learn about (growing, rolling, whatever) after work. maybe mention that you aren't looking to use him for a connect or anything so he dosen't think that you're just hasling him to score a little bag or something.

Good luck with your new friend!

Re: Rasta at work...what do you think?

yes man if your really 19 why should you have a problem smoking with a middle aged man? im around your age and i have smoked with people of all kinds, and marijuana is internationally understood, if he makes rolling gestures why the fuck havent you smoked with him yet! hahaha if i seen a true rasta around me i would go up to him even if i didnt have a clue who he was

Re: Rasta at work...what do you think?

One thing I would like to do in life is smoke herb with a real rasta.

There should be no hesitation in this situation, kindly ask him if he'd like to roll up a spliff after work
