haha no i was just messin with you. It's just the only people I see hold it in for that long are usually people who are newer.. because they are told 'hold it in' and they end up sittin there holding it in for a long time lol

what im saying is its pretty pointless to hold it in that long

As far as I know holding it in for more than about 5-7 seconds is only damaging your lungs.
As all the THC that you can absorb is got before this time. I hold for 3-5 seconds.

How do they know if no one tells them? First time I saw a bong in use, the operation of it was immediately clear to me but not everyone has a mechanical mind. Everyone needs stuff explained to them at least once. Thank god for sites like this, but when I was a kid there was no internet and I got a lot of bad habits just by watching other stoners with bad habits and making up shit as I went. I still to this day have to remind myself to quit torching when it's cherried and not to hold the smoke as long as I can. Back in my day we'd give each other shit if we didn't hold the smoke for as long as possible or if someone coughed.

That's one of the things I like about this thread: for the most part, it's discussing how rookies are funny, not how they're lame. We all need to do our part to help out the up and coming heads of the world.
