Nah man. You both are right.

Snaps are wonderful if you're smoking by yourself or in a small group, but if your passing a bong around 5 or 6 people it can get tedious. If your in a larger rotation, cornering a push or button bowl can keep it fresh to get most of the way, if not all the way around the circle with decent hit's using a good cornering techniques.

That doesn't make them a rookie. I've been smoking for a good while now but I don't smoke joints. Occasionally I might be going to an event or something where I need to be able to hide the fact that I'm smoking weed, so I have somebody roll me a joint. Not being able to roll a joint/blunt doesn't make you a rookie smoker, it makes you a rookie joint/blunt roller.

Rolling a joint or blunt is something that virtually all very experienced smokers can do though. I learned how to roll a joint like three years after I started smoking, it is not that you need to be able to make beautiful 3 skin spliffs that would dazzle the Bob, but you should be able to roll a functional joint that is pleasing to the eyes. (generally they go hand in hand)

My dad doesn't smoke a joint hardly ever, he says it wastes pot, which is true they can be very inefficient. He just smokes hash out of this little pipe he made from an antler. Slow burning and soothes the day away.

Cornering is kind of coloquial to different smoking circles. My friends at home would be offended if someone didn't corner, but my friends at college have no idea what cornering is. We never smoke blunts where I am from, but proper blunt smoking etiquette is a must at the university I attend. It is all relative to what smoking circles you come from what makes you a "newb" really.

I do agree however if someone sucks in some hot lunch or mondo scoobz, they're probably really drunk, a newb stoner, or both. Don't hate on newbies, help them out! Show them how to draw slow and how to combust the cannabis with the heat from a lighter flame, rather than scorching the bowl with it.

One giant stoner community is also not a fact of life. People who smoke are very diverse and will have different ruch traditions surrounding cannabis. I mean, come on, we are all kind of newbs when it comes to smoking cannabis, our ancestors beat us to it thousands of years ago.

No, but eventually your high plateaus. You can keep smoking your bud, but you wont get any higher. That's a waste in my opinion.

Cornering a bowl is considered polite smoking etiquette when smoking in a group. Would you rather get passed a bowl with a bunch of torched, charred buds, or a bowl that was nicely cornered and has greens for you as well?

Not everyone rips snaps... I mean, I do all day every day, but not everyone can handle the big rips.
