Re: The Complete Connoisseur's Guide to Enjoying Cannabis:

Decent guide, but I have a problem with one part. Resin does NOT seep down to the tip of the buds when they're dried, and the tips of the buds do not contain the most THC. THC and other cannabinoids are manufactured in the resin heads of the trichomes. That's where the resin and cannabinoids stay unless the gland heads are knocked off or a chemical agent is used to bond to the molecules. Otherwise, the THC stays exactly where it is. Buds are broken from the bottom up to the tip because of convenience, not to save the best for last.

Anyways, I just had a problem with that statement because it's 100% false. Jorge Cervantes, Ed Rosenthal, and Jason King would all agree with me on that one

Re: The Complete Connoisseur's Guide to Enjoying Cannabis:

Just tried that Mango trick. It worked wonders. I ripped a big, fat bowl with my girlfriend after eating about 4 pieces each. Usually one bowl out of my bong gets us both pretty high for awhile but we were both extrememly surprised at how high we were. It is worth trying!

Re: The Complete Connoisseur's Guide to Enjoying Cannabis:

I too am excited to try the mango idea.

Magnifying glass and soldering iron are wayyyy better than bee line. I find bee line still has it's own distinct taste (and all I want to taste is bud) . Although bee line is still 100X better than butane. I just got a new AMG bong and I keep her butane free. Makes all the difference.

- Studies prove that inhaling butune is extremely harmful to your health, and as a connoisseur of cannabis I can not recommend the use of a standard butane lighter to anyone for just that reason! If you had ever tried any of the methods I have recommended in my guide you would have realized the EXTREME increase in flavor, noticed that bowls burn twice as long, and probably wouldn't have created your post.

With that said, you sir are 100% WRONG!
Hydrocarbons never combust in full equilibrium. Since the world does not follow ideal laws, a significant amount of butane would still be left traveling in the direction of inhalation. It may or may not be a significant amount. But over a long period of time, it may be harmful.

thanks man, much of the info needs to be revised, but unless I become a mod i don't think it's going to happen. It won't allow me to edit my original post any more and submitting my work to current mods hasn't gone so well in the past...

Re: The Complete Connoisseur's Guide to Enjoying Cannabis:

SOLDERING IRON:

Never use a soldering Iron that has a metal heating element. Use a ceramic element
soldering iron such as the Hakko 454. Please do some further research on Hakko ceramic soldering iron, the differnce is that it uses a ceramic rod wich i believe has to toxic or negative health risks. Unlike most other soldering irons that use a steel or other metal alloy heating rod that causes many severe health issues, not too mention it taste like metal. A Hakko 454-456 series has a removable metal tip and shaft wich gives you direct access to the ceramic heat rod. These can be purchased at www.hakkousa.com

Heres another thread about the hakko http://forum.grasscity.com/recreatio...ss-smoking.htm

HOT KNIVES:

Again, don't use any metal. Metal gives off some toxic fumes wich cause a whole range of seriouse health problems. Please look around your local head shops for glass hot knive sticks. They are made out of pyrex I belive and are very good for heating up and letting cool without concern of shattering. Perfect for hot knives ( there made specifically for it) and you can really taste the weed not the metal. I recomend using glass for everything, even a glass stir stick for your bowl instead of that old bobby pin.

Most connoisseurs will have a large amount of marijuana that if handled with dirty hands, could spread throuought there stash and end up producing mold. Also finger oils are bad because they too will reduce the potency of your bud.
