does that a/c have a carb on the side of it? cause if it doesnt, doesnt a lot of smoke get trapped in it and become really stale and gross?

There's no carb. Some smoke will stay in there if the bowl is still cherry, it usually doesn't bother me though. If it does you can always just clear it again after you take the hit. Sometimes I do it and sometimes I don't.
