Re: Uggh...tolerance break may be needed.

Keep going guys, remember to think about your goals. It's always hardest in the beginning.

I was never a huge smoker but I would smoke every day over the past year or two. Except, I've only smoked once over the entire past 4 months, and I'm about to get some weed tomorrow or the next day.

I found myself more clear-headed and able to get more things done without my weed, frankly. So from now on, I'm only going to use it at the end of the day when I'm done with my things, and occasionally with friends. I think that's the best way, otherwise you just get so used to it and it eats up so much cash and time...

Moderation is key. Keeps tolerance down and doesn't interfere as much in other aspects of life.

I don't smoke tobacco.

So I have nothing to smoke when I am on a tbreak.

I really need one too, I am smoking way too much expensive weed.

I love the act of smoking as well. I find cigarrettes disgusting but sometimes I just can't pass one up.

A t-break really does wonders and it doesn't have to be that long. Just take it one day at a time. And someone above mentioned smoking hookah as an alternative smoke, and I'd agree on that. Taking a huge rip of flavored tobacco out of a quality hookah can be pretty enjoyable.

Re: Uggh...tolerance break may be needed.

ughh, just went through day 3. gave in to booze and cigs, but still clean off the other shit. i swear the world conspires against me, because as i do my best to steer clear of the one thing that chills me out, my world turns into a large turd filled with undigested bits of drama and despair. apologizes for the vile analogy, but it's way past my bedtime and i'm hammered. i will say it gives me hope to know that there are more seasoned vets than i who can deal with this bs. nas have better had the wrong philosophy on life, otherwise i'm gonna be looking at a nice blunt of jack in the not too distant future.

Re: Uggh...tolerance break may be needed.

Day 6

Doing pretty good. I smoked some spice diamond and I must say that stuff is pretty nice. I just might retract my statment about not wanting spice as diamond was better than the gold I had before. Gave me a nice buzz and I even got the munchies so I made up for all the food I haven't eaten this week. Even before I tried the spice my ability to eat had returned.

Sleep isn't too hard to get either so I feel I am over the hump. Honestly I feel like I could go another few weeks without my ganja easy now and having a little herbal smoke to use has cured my need for an occasional smoke. I tried tobacco to fill my smoking need but I just didnt like the taste at all and I prefer using my bong out of habit. I still miss MJ but I know when things straighten up and my tolerance is destroyed I will be so happy. Take care all and to all you guys taking breaks, it truely does get better and the days stop seeming so long.

I will be updating every few days now that I feel the hardest part is done.

"smell like an skunk died in an orange field."

Hahaha, that's poetic man.

Hey, I haven't been around in a while, don't know if anyone remembers me. I quit smoking for about a year, just went back to school and really needed a break. Anyways, I was over my cousins last night and he hands me a fatty to take home with me. School has been really stressful (doing well, made dean's list for spring 08) I just stress easy. I have two five page papers due next week so it's a win win, ya know. I can really get creative in my writing when I'm high. Back to the point of my post, haha, I'm pretty stoned now for the first time in a year. Man it's like it was 30 years ago, hahaha. I'm so high.

Life is soooooooooo gooooooooooood

Day 19

I miss weed....lol. Still hanging in there. Its not a big deal anymore, thats why I haven't posted in a while but I figure Im almost hitting week three so what the heck. Funny since I have herb in the house too, I have fought the urge a few times. I ordered a new bong though so when I can smoke again it will be quite the treat.

Re: Uggh...tolerance break may be needed.

i'm proud of you man. once you get used to not smoking, it's much easier. i had that problem for a while. i was smoking daily for a while, then the stash got low, and i never bought more when it was out. i haven't smoked in probably about 25 days or so, and in the last 2 months i've smoked maybe four times. it's really odd cause i used to be high all the time, but then i started running a lot for exercise, and i got addicted to that. not necessarilty a bad addiction, but i feel bad if i don't run. i even sold my bong...who knows when i'll smoke again. anyway, keep on keepin on man, you can do whatever you put your mind to.

Re: Uggh...tolerance break may be needed.

Day 25

Tolerance break over!!!

I was going to go for about a month but 25 days seemed pretty good to me so since my living situation seems ok again I puffed. It was awesome. Half a joint and I was really high. Since that's was actually yesterday when I smoke a bowl from my sherlock and a puff from a bong this morning , I was good and baked. I'm very happy with the results. And now I dont feel the need to smoke all the time so I will space it out more and take days off here and there. This bowls for you GC.

In the words of GLaDOS

this was a triumph...
Im making a note here...
HUGE SUCCESS...
it's hard to overstate my satisfaction...

That's good advice. The worst parts of a T-break are having too much time and nothing to do with it, insomnia, and loss of apetite. Just do like hpidriver said and do alot of physical activities. It'll help you sleep easier, and eat too.

But as far as an ounce of dank in a month, that doesn't seem too bad. I probably smoke anywhere from 2-3 a month, and I'm still getting pretty good highs from it. Thinkin bout takin a break for my lungs though, and getting higher will be a real nice side effect
