civil citation in NY for marijuana possession and becoming a teacher

Can this effect me if I want to be a teacher? How long do civil citations last on your record?

I thought I was OK because civil citations are less than misdemeanors, but the rules for becoming a teacher are quite strict, and I was wondering if this could come back to haunt me once I try and find a job after college...

I was thinking I'd like to be a college professor, do you think that it would have the same detrimental effects to that type of career as well?

To the best of my knowledge, civil citations disappear from your record after 7 years...but that would still mean about 4 years of not being able to teach if it really does affect me.

if asked just say you never were arrested. it's less than a misdemeaner so I doubt it would affect u or even show up. only the cops would know...

if u are worried ask an attorney. u weren't even charged with a crime so I think you need to quit toking...
