I just re-read your letter.

I still think it's very good! I just hope you get a better response than I do.
The responses I get are obviously written by some low-level staffer, I'm sure the Senators/Representatives doesn't even get to read my letter.


They probably just say "anything marijuana related get's this standard reply..."


We need a new way to get their attention!

I wouldnt say "please support". my english teachers always used to tell me that you dont want to sound desperate. just say, "I urge you to support.."

This method will work for decriminalization, but as soon as you put legalization on the table Cigarette companies and Cotton companies are going to break out their check books and start writing checks to congress..
Just like they did back in the 1920's to criminalize Hemp, and marijuana to protect their profit margins. We need a corporate company with big bucks, thats interested in growing/selling hemp in the USA(which would be incredibly profitable).

I've posted this multiple times, and it tends to get ignored... But, I'll keep trying...

YES WE DO! I actually got a response from my rep but it seemed like some bullshit letter that just restated my points and didn't say if he would support or oppose the bill's. have you heard anything lately on how close the bill is to being voted on? I haven't really been in the loop since i went home for the summer and just got back to college...

BTW THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS GIVEN ME SUGGESTIONS. please take a few hours of your day to write a letter to your state representative, there is no consequences...they don't put you onto a watchlist like most may think. you can find all the information about your state reps on NORML's website: norml.org or go to http://capwiz.com/norml2/home/ and search for your state officials on the right handside. every 1 letter they recieve suppossedly represents a couple thousand votes regarding the support of the bills introduced to congress. every letter counts and if we get enough people to commit to our cause, we can make a real difference in the country and make it a much safer place for all Americans

Honestly. out of all the many letters i have read on this site that people wrote i think your is by far the best.
It sucks you got a copout of an answer but we must continue to fight this struggle. (sings) We shall overcome!

Nice job.
I wrote to my representative not long ago and got a personalized, thoughtful response. In his response, he stated he was glad to hear from a local constituent, -that many of the marijuana-related letters he receives are from out of state. So get busy peeps and write and represent your district.

+rep for taking the iniciative to write your state rep on your feelings on the laws about marijuana!!!!! thank you for taking action...if more people stepped forward and did even little things like this they would notice what a big difference it really makes...if the majority of marijuana supporters stepped forward i believe the nation would be suprised about how many of us there really are and it could push the nation forward in the reform of marijuana laws...everyones just to afriad to speak up...
isnt that what was happening before america was made everyone was too scared to step up and speak out against what they thought was the majority and the authority
