Cleaning my glass spoon..

So I've had this piece for about 4 years now (my first and only piece I got when I was 18 ) and I didn't clean it for about 2.5 years. (Lol, I know, right?) So I cleaned it about 8 months ago with Formula 420 and it did a decent job, still had resin caught in the bowl area (not in the bowl, but in the space around it). I just cleaned it again last night with warm water and soaked it a few times and cleaned and poked and prodded in between soakings..

Well, my question is what can I do to get that shit outta there? Do I have to soak it in harsher chemicals for a longer period of time, or what? I want to get this baby sparkling, like the day I bought it.

put it in a zip lock baggy with rubbing alcohol, let it set for about an hour and clean it out with pipe cleaners
should come out really easily

Yeah, I heard rubbing alcohol works really well, I just didn't have any lying around.

If you have a local smoke/head shop this stuff works wonders. Less than 10 bucks for a big size bottle and it will last you many uses.

That's what I used last time I cleaned it, but it didn't get that stuff caught around the bowl. Do I have to let it soak for longer? All the directions said was to shake it around.

I have the same problem with my bowl and i just bowl it in water till it all comes out.

So I went to the store and got some rubbing alcohol. I let it soak for 2 hrs (I watched a movie, lol) and then rinsed it out and poked at it. I got some chunks outta there, but it's still pretty nasty.

It's on it's second soak right now.

I figured I'd need more than one soak cos I cleaned it for the first time (only partially) after I'd already had it for 3 years. It's gonna take some TLC.

you can also add some salt and slosh it around inside
thats basically the same thing as formula 420
other than that the longer its been there the longer it will have to soak
it will get it out though

Wether said before or not, here's a simple instruction list;

Heat it up a bit with your lighter.

Scrape/agigitate what resin you can with a bent paperclip (Don't worry, it won't break glass, unless you have a $5 pipe)

Put in a plastic baggie, with salt (enough so there is some that cannot desolve) and the hottest water you can get out of your faucet. If it's steaming at all, you're golden.

Shake vigourously, until you see no more progress.

Repeat the last two steps, but with rubbing alcohol.

And you're done.

It takes me 5 minutes from the first time I put the pipe in the bag (maybe 2 minutes to do a bit of pre scraping,) til I can smoke out of it. Don't even have to let it sit.

i think i read it on the Chameleon Glass site but they recommend to use a mixture of water, dish soap and some salt. something about it wont damage the color fume on the inside of the glass. i dunno if that's what the marketed cleaner "Formula 420" is but i know if you soak it over night, shit will be pretty clean.

Definatley use Rubbing Alcohol. I've had my most used glass pipe for 3 years now, and have scraped it a few times.. but about a week ago finally decieded to give it a good cleaning. I just sat the pipe in a plastic bowl, and filled with the rubbing alcohol until it was completely covered. I read that your supposed to let it soak for 24 to get the 'like new' look, but I soaked mine for about 2 hours, cleaned it out with a pipe cleaner, rinsed it off and put new alcohol in the plastic bowl. After I let it set another 2 hours, there was only a few fine chunks on the side of the pipe opposite of the choke. The longer it sets.. the easier it will be. Mine was that color changing glass, and I was shocked to see how clear it got. I've already smoked like 20 bowls through it, and I can definitely tell the colors are going to be amazing.

I hope I can get it crystal clear. Near the mouthpiece and the bowl are still kinda yellowish.

If your pipe is color changing glass, then the yellow is just from the fuming it went through.

If its clean and you actually rinsed it out, there shouldn't be any yellow left over from the rubbing alcohol (which obviously gets rather yellow/brown)

It's CCG, but I don't remember it being yellowish when I got it (been a while, tho ).
